The class went quiet. Why would their science teacher all of a sudden switch the whole class dynamic and change seatings, pairing each of her students with someone they had never talked to before? Sunghoon was alright with the idea until he got put next to some loud girl who couldn't stop talking to the girl beside her, she just wouldn't shut up. But when she finally got in trouble by the teacher, she just began to talk with him instead. Jake sadly, was on the complete opposite end of the classroom from him with some other girl he hadn't even seen before. He could feel the awkwardness from here despite the fact he could see Jake trying to engage in conversation with her.

"Yes, I can hear you. I know your name is Wonyoung," Sunghoon groaned, putting his head down on his table. He tried his best to plaster on a smile and be kind to her but she was making it very hard. It was obvious she was trying to be nice but she just kept bringing up things he just didn't want to talk about or wasn't interested in. "Oh did you hear about the new stores opening in the mall?" She asked right after his groans, playing around with the little pieces of eraser shavings that she had made a few seconds ago. "Nope," He said plainly. Sunghoon tried his best to focus on the assignment in front of them.

Jake though had the opposite problem, his partner didn't talk. The girl shied away from him and was already doing the assignment on her own, a blush on her cheeks. After a few minutes, she finally took her first glance at Jake after the whole time they were paired up but quickly avoided eye contact when she found he was already looking back. "Uh, we're supposed to do it together... Would you like to go over your answers with me?" Jake asked kindly, trying his best to make her comfortable. But every time he said something, whatever it was, she flinched a little and blushed just a little more. He sighed and leaned back against his chair.

His patients were running out a little, he hated to admit it. He had no problem with the fact that she was shy and flustered to be around someone unfamiliar but the fact that the teacher was glaring at them right now made everything worst. Jake took a short glance towards Sunghoon and his partner, trying to stifle his laugh when he saw how done Sunghoon looked. With tired eyes and a groggy tone he could hear from across the room, he answered all of her questions. It didn't take long for Sunghoon to look back at him.

Jake mouthed something and Sunghoon immediately tried to stop himself from laughing. You know, a smile would make everything easier. The younger tosses his arms and began to mouth something back. What about you? Your partner hasn't even begun to talk with you yet. They laughed at each other. Jake took one more glance at the girl beside him before looking back at Sunghoon with a smile. "Sunghoon and Jake, please pay attention to your partner."

They found themselves in Jake's room once again, this time blankly looking at the wall in front of them. It was happening again, they just simply wanted some time to themselves to think. Homework was quick this afternoon so it didn't take long before they traveled up the stairs and into his room. Layla was laying on the bed with them, sleeping with soft snores everything she breathed out.

Jake suddenly fell back into the bed with a giggle. "I can't believe we got in trouble at science. It's not my fault my partner didn't talk..." Sunghoon laughed and went to lay down as well, turning on his side to look at him. "Mine talked alright but she talked about everything but the assignment," He earned a small laugh from the older who played around with his hair. Sunghoon tried his best not to bring a hand up to cup Jake's cheek as he blushed to himself, a burning feeling in his throat. He looked so adorable right now with his little smile, staring into his eyes with his beautiful brown eyes that shimmered in the light, no matter how dim. Sunghoon wasn't sure if the feelings in his chest came from his crush on Jaeyun or if he was truly falling for Jake as well, he couldn't and didn't want to make any moves if it was the first choice. Plus, he's much too scared to.

"You know Jake, you remind me a lot of a childhood friend I had," Sunghoon whispered out. He didn't intend to whisper but it came out as one for some reason, so Jake decided to respond with the same softer tone. "Really?" He could see the look on Jake's face change for a split second before he smiled again. "That's cool, why do you think I remind you of them?" "Everything..." Sunghoon muttered under his breath, Jake couldn't hear this one. "What was that?" The younger shook his head. "Your personalities are very similar." Partially true, he didn't want to tell Jake that he was exactly like Jaeyun.

The older seemed to zone out for a few seconds. I remind him of a childhood friend? Jake thought to himself, biting his lower lip. Could we have met before? Sunghoon grabbed his hand and intertwined their fingers. For some reason this didn't feel weird at all, it felt all the more comfortable if he had contact with Jake like this. To feel the warmth of Jake's hand warm his own or vice-versa. Plus there was a giggle that Jake always let out whenever Sunghoon held his hand that made the younger so happy, he couldn't describe it.

"Hey, Sunghoon?" Jake suddenly called out with a small voice. The younger looked down at him and hummed softly. "C-can I hug you?" Déjà vu hit him right there, Jaeyun had asked something very similar years before. But who was Sunghoon to say no. Without any words, he opened up his arms for Jake, waiting for him to fall into his touch. Once Jake fell into his arms with his arms wrapped around him as well, Sunghoon could feel it. Whatever was happening here, was right. He loved having Jake by his side and apparently, loved having him in his arms even more. Especially since this Jaeyun was real.

"I'd love hugs, whenever."

we honestly don't even know where this story is going anymore. we have ideas but aren't sure if it will make the closing good :')
