Jacob and Bella Story

Chapter 3

Bella's P.O.V
We parked the car in the parking lot, and we got out of the car. He then showed me where we were.
"We are at First beach." Jacob said.
"I've never been here before I would always go to some other beach close to home." I said.
"Well, then this will be our beach then."
He smiled and tried to grab my hand again, but I pulled away fast so he could not catch it.
"Oh, I can't hold your hand?" Jacob asked looking at me.
"No, I mean yeah it's just I think it's kind of awkward to hold hands because we are just friends." I replied.
"Bella, we used to when we were little."
"Yeah but now it's different I just got out of a relationship, and I'm not ready to be in another."
"OK, but you know I would never rush you."
"I know."
We walked down to the beach, and Jacob got a soft red blanket out and set the basket on the top of it.
"So, what do you want to do first?" I asked.
"How about swimming?" Jacob asked.
"I forgot about that. I don't have a swim suit."
"Do you have a tank top on under your clothes?"
"Yeah."
"Why don't you take your shirt off and wear your tank top and shorts?"
"But my pants will get wet."
"When you get out of the water, we have towels, and I can dry you off because I'm hot."
"OK."
I took my dark blue shirt off and set it on the blanket. Jacob took his pants off, and his shirt, just wearing his swimsuit and placed it on the blanket next to my clothes.
"Race you!" I yelled.
"Not if I get there first!" Jacob yelled.
We got in the water and fell on our stomachs. We splashed each other a million times until we were drenched.
"Let's go further." I said.
"OK." Jacob replied.
We swam for a little while until we found someone in the water.
"Who is that?" I asked.
"Bella get behind me." Jacob said.
"What is it?"
Jacob did not answer me then in a second; something came up behind me and frightened me. I jumped and turned around.
"Oh, it's you, Embry. You scared me." I said.
"Embry don't scare my girl... best friend like that!" Jacob yelled.
"Why not?" Embry asked.
"Because I said so."
"Fine."
Embry swam off, and Jacob and I swam back to the shore.
"I'm sorry Bella I did not know they were here." Jacob apologized.
"It's OK, at least we are not the only ones on the beach." I said.
"Yeah."
I looked at him and turned his head toward me so that he was looking straight at me.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"I just wanted to spend just you and me time, because we never get to hang out that much." Jacob replied.
"It's okay it's not a big deal."
I hugged Jacob tightly in my arms. His warm skin kept me so warm that I was burning up and ending up not wet anymore. We went back to our stuff, I put my shirt back on, and Jacob put his pants and shirt back on.
"Come on let's go for a walk." I said.
I grabbed his hand, and he looked at me.
"Oh, what's this?" Jacob asked shocked, looking down at my hand.
"Shut up. I'm only doing this to comfort you." I said.
"Ah, huh."
I looked at him and nudged him in the shoulder. He laughed. We walked across the beach in the sand.
"Bella." Jacob said.
"Yeah." I said looking at his face.
"Why haven't you called me or text me last week?"
"No reason."
"There has to be a reason, Bella. You would have called me if there was no reason."
I looked away from him. It was silent for a second, and I did not speak. Suddenly a couple of shirtless boys came toward us.
"Hey, Bella!" Seth yelled.
"Hey, Seth!" I yelled.
We stopped in front of them where they were sitting.
"How are you doing?" Seth asked.
"Good, I guess." I replied.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing."
"There has to be something."
Suddenly Jacob interrupted our conversation.
"I'll be right back," Jacob said walking away.
I grabbed his arm tightly from keeping him from going anywhere. He groaned and stopped.
"Where are you going?" I asked.
"I will go get our stuff because we have to go in a little bit." Jacob replied.
He ran off leaving me with Seth.
"Let's sit down." Seth said.
"OK." I said.
We sat on some benches where everybody was.
"So Bella back to the question, why are you so upset?" Seth asked.
"It's not a big deal." I replied.
"Tell me."
"Fine, but don't tell Jacob!"
"I swear."
"Well, Jacob asked me why I haven't been texting or calling him last week. Well, one I had school and two..."
Suddenly Jacob came back, set the stuff down, and sat next to me.
"Hum Jacob, Sam wants to talk to you." Seth lied.
"OK." Jacob said with a curious look on his face.
Jacob got up and went to talk to Sam.
"Sam didn't need to talk to him." I said.
"He didn't I did it so you can keep telling me what you said." Seth replied.
"Oh."
"So tell me. What was the second thing you did that made you avoid Jacob?"
"Well, it's Edward."
"You mean that vampire?"
"Yeah."
"What about him?"
"Well after he left me, Jacob found me in the woods and took me home. I was heartbroken, but when Jacob comforted me the whole month after he left me, it was healed. However, now I do not think spending time with Jacob is helping. So I stayed away from boys to see if I could stop thinking about him, but it's still not working."
"Well if you spend more and more time with Jacob, it can help you forget about Edward."
"I'll try that. Thanks, Seth you're a good friend."
I gave Seth a big hug. It felt so weird hugging someone else than Jacob and Edward.
"You're welcome." Seth replied pulling away.
I got up, walked up to Jacob, and gave him a big hug.
"What was that for?" Jacob asked.
"You know, for being my best friend and getting me through my breakup with Edward." I replied.
"You're welcome, you know I would never hurt you Bella like Edward did."
"I know."
He gave me a big hug.
"I'm hungry Jake let's eat." I said.
"OK." Jacob replied.
We walked to where Jacob put our stuff.
"I got you a peanut butter sandwich with some lays and here's water." Jacob said.
"Thanks, Jacob." I said.
"You're welcome."
While we finished eating, we cleaned up and get ready to go.
"I'll meet you in the truck." I said.
"OK." Jacob said.
"I'll see you guys tonight. Bye!"
Jacob came to my truck, got in, and turned it on.
"I had a fun time." I said.
"Me too." Jacob replied.
On the way back to my house, I got cold, so I moved over and cuddled under Jacob's arm.
"You're so warm." I said.
"I know it's a wolf thing." Jacob said.
"No, it's a Jacob thing."
We pulled into my driveway and we got out of the car. I walked up to Jacob and hugged him. He looked into my eyes for a moment.
"I missed you, Bella, last week. I can't live without you." Jacob said.
"That's so sweet." I said.
"Yeah."
"See you tomorrow I guess."
"You too."
I smiled, and I had no choice to hug him. I grabbed him and hugged him tight. I then went to the door, turned around, and looked at him.
"Bye!" I yelled.
"Bye, Bella!" Jacob yelled back.
