Nate spent a good 20 minutes trying to find Jessica. She promised him she'll be here but yet where was she?
"Hey Blair have you seen Jess?" Nate asked her.
Blair nodded. "I did but she said we had to leave for some modeling emergency."
"Hm."
"Something wrong."
Nate was about to say something until someone interrupted them. Sage dragged her boyfriend away from Blair not before glaring at her and moving to the dance floor.
"Tell me this isn't your best cotillion ever?" Sage asked the boy.
"Are you kidding me? This is worse than when I punch Carter Baizen." Nate replied as the two danced.
They were interrupted by Georgina. "Excuse me. Mini me. My phone." Georgina held out her hand.
"Oh. Is this yours?" Sage asked, pulling out a phone.
Georgina takes it. "Huh. Skip the innocent act. I admire your way with an ante. If you're ever in the need of employment. Call me." With that she walks away.
Nate couldn't believe what he just heard. "Wait. You broadcasted the sex tape?"
"Would you want your father to marry Serena?"
"She's my friend. You humiliated her."
"I didn't force her to do it for the camera. I simply reported it. Like you did with my dad and Lily on The Spectator."
"That's a newspaper not a society gala and I didn't do it to hurt them. You know what? Tonight I really wanted to introduce you to someone who means a lot to me because I thought you were different. I guess you're just like every other girl I've been with."
"If you're talking about Jessica, you know she left. That was after she humiliated me, calling me out for what I did."
"And now I know why."
"Are you seriously defending her right now?"
"If I had to choose between you or her, I'll always choose her. It'll always be her."
"Nate!" Sage yelled but the boy didn't stop.
Not only did he feel like an idiot for keeping Sage around this long, but he was embarrassed that the one girl he'll ever love knew about it. He needed to make things right. He needed to tell Jessica he wanted to be with her.
