San sighed deeply when the boy disappeared and he was all by himself again.Well, if what Wooyoung told him was true and he was just invisible most of the time, he would still be here in San's room. He just couldn't see him.
But maybe there was a way they could still communicate.
"Uhm, Wooyoung...?", San started, cringing a bit because it felt as though he was talking to himself. "You're still here, right? So, that means you can hear me, you just can't answer...?"
He waited patiently for a sign of the younger that he understood him, but of course there was nothing.
"Isn't there a way how you can communicate with me? It's kind of weird to talk to you when I don't even know if you're still here..."
San stood up from his bed and looked around. Trying to find something they could use to get in contact with each other. He was eager to find out more about Wooyoung's death and the spirit world.
It was mind blowing to him that ghosts exist.
"You said that you can't touch anything while you're in your ghost form and I also can't hear you talking... do you not have something like... a ghost phone?", San asked, running out of ideas.
"Can you really not make yourself visible for me again? Only for a few tiny seconds..?", San pleaded.
He heard a thump behind him and quickly turned around.
On his bed sat Wooyoung again.
"You're still there!", San said, smiling brightly out of excitement.
"Eager to see me?", Wooyoung smirked, but started giggling right after to cover up the embarrassment he felt. Why did he say such a thing while smirking?
He wanted to slap himself.
"You wish", San chuckled, being kind of confused at Wooyoung's flustered state.
"I thought you could only be visible for one hour a day, but now you're here again..."
"That wasn't the whole truth. I can change into my human form for longer, but after some time it gets really exhausting. Sometimes to the extent of passing out and when that happens it's hard to get back into the ghost form again. I think... when you can't master up the strength to change back into being a spirit... something really bad will happen", Wooyoung explained.
"What exactly?", San asked, almost whispering.
"I don't know, since I've never experienced it until now. I did pass out once, but it wasn't that bad. Anyway, I hope it never happens again."
Slowly, San sat down next to the younger boy on his bed.
"But why did you let me see you again then? I mean... you must feel exhausted right now."
"Up to now it's bearable... and I also wanted some company for a little longer", he said, his breath coming intermittently.
"But... I don't want you to suffer because of me, Wooyoung...", San whispered, continuously growing more worried at the other.
"It's fine. I want it... I just have to...", he scooted his body a little away from San, but only to lay his head in the older boy's lap and closing his eyes. "lay down for a bit."
San was a little frightened by the sudden touch between them, but to his own surprise he didn't mind it.
For a short moment, he was confused as to why Wooyoung's head felt warm in his lap. He assumed that ghosts would feel cold, but he remembered that the younger told him he was basically a human when visible, so he probably also had a fitting body temperature.
"Are you sure it's not too much for you...? I don't want you to faint", San said, gently caressing the boy's head. His hair felt unbelievably soft.
A slight hum came from Wooyoung.
"You enjoy the little massage?", San chuckled.
"Mmmh", he mumbled. "It somehow alleviates the exhaustion a little bit."
