"U-Uhm... San?", Wooyoung whispered panicky. "Am I not invisible?"

"Apparently not", the older whispered back, equally panicked, but quickly putting on a smile for his mom.

"Who is this boy, San?", she repeated, sounding confused and slightly mad at the same time.

"Uhm, he's my friend. Wooyoung", San mumbled.

"And you didn't think about asking me before you bring someone over?", now his mom sounded annoyed.

"I-I'm sorry, I can go if that's better", the ghost said quietly, looking up at San's mom with scared eyes.

She sighed deeply. "It's okay. Do you want to stay for dinner?"

"I don't want to be a burden, I can-"

"Yes, he would love to", San interrupted the younger.

"We're gonna talk about this more later", San's mom said, giving her son a serious look before leaving the room and closing the door behind her.

The older felt relieved that his mom let it slide for now. He didn't want to have to come up with a story of why the other boy was here and who he was in the first place.

Quiet sobbing grabbed San's attention.

Wooyoung still stood in the same position as earlier, in the middle of the room. Head down, gaze fixed on his feet, he cried silently.

"Woo? Hey, oh my god, what's wrong? Why are you crying?", San asked worriedly. He rushed to the younger and gently intertwined their hands.

But Wooyoung refused to look up at him. He felt so helpless.

The way, San's mom reacted when she saw him, made him realize how unwanted he was. Nobody cared for him and nobody would ever.

And why wasn't he able to make himself invisible? He thought, he turned into his ghost form in time, but San and his mom could both still see him, so why didn't it work?

Something was wrong.

Not being able to turn back into a ghost wasn't normal. And another strange thing was, that Wooyoung didn't feel exhaustion.

Usually, he would soon pass out when he was visible for a much longer time than an hour, but the boy felt nothing.

"Let's sit down, mh?", San mumbled, pulling Wooyoung with him to the ground.

They sat on a carpet in front of the older's bed, still holding hands, but not touching each other any further.

Wooyoung kept on crying and instead of calming down, it seemed like it would get heavier every minute.

"Wooyoung, please tell me what is making you so sad? Is it because of my mom? She can be a bit... harsh sometimes."

The younger didn't answer, so San wrapped his hands about the other's ankles and pulled him on his lap with force.

"Little Woo... what's up?", he tried again and finally got an answer from the other, not verbally though, but Wooyoung placed his chin on the older's shoulder and fisted San's shirt with his hands.

"You can trust me."

Hearing this only made the younger tear up more. He didn't know if he could believe San. He was a ghost and the other was a human. How would this work out? San had other friends, he didn't need Wooyoung.

The boy violently bit the fabric of San's shirt that hung over his shoulders to prevent himself from screaming.

"Why am I here??", he asked desperately. "Why can't I just die like other people? That would be so much easier. I want to die, I want it. Why can't my wish come true for once?? I don't want to be here. Help me die. San, help me die, please!"

The younger pulled back from San's shoulder to look at him directly. He aggressively wiped away the tears from his cheeks, but it was to no avail since new ones were already following.

"I'm too dumb for everything. Now, I can't even be a proper ghost anymore because I somehow managed to stay in my human form and don't know how to change back. No one needs me...", he sobbed. His voice got quieter by the time.

"Prince...", San whispered. "My little prince..."

Wooyoung shut his eyes at the pet name, but grabbed San's shirt tighter.

"I am replaceable."

hello friends, I'm still here. I hope you didn't forget about this story yet.

I think I didn't update for a month, oh god-

I'm just so stressed with school right now since I'm in 13th grade, which is the last.
