My eyes opened to a dark room, full of green light. It was ambient and felt cozy. I was looking around the place, trying to figure out where am I, and my eyes found Loki, playing with a flower wrapped around a pillar. He looked so serene and beautiful, with light passing through his raven hair. His delicate fingers feeling the texture of the petals, a soft smile etched in his face. I was staring at him till he looked up, I quickly averted my eyes, "What is this place?" I ask to divert him.

"I'm...not sure either. As soon as you passed out, I-we were here. Maybe because of our...connection? Since you passed out with your hand in mine, I was pulled in your lumber too perhaps." He rubbed his thumb onto the base of the fingers of the other hand.

He was so quiet now, no eye rolling, no unnecessary comments, no haste of any sort. He looked, he felt welcoming. He was still busy massaging his hands, eyes absolutely focused on them.

"You seem calm."

He raised his eyes and stopped moving his fingers.

"I meant in a good way. I mean, when I first came here, you seemed to be annoyed at me. Now you're...warm, if I can say that."

He took in a breath and exhaled slowly, combing his hands through his hair.

"I-uh... I wasn't sure. Of you. You...I wasn't sure I could trust your company. I didn't want to."

"You are scared of me." I saw, realizing what his initial coldness was about. "I'm a mortal, my life span much shorter. You're scared that if you come to like my presence...it'll be short-lived."

He breathed again and turned away from me, fiddling with a flower again. He had seen through so much, yet neither will it stop nor will it get good. He has lived with his misfortune, it's his destiny. With his back to me, my thoughts went astray to how much pain he has been through. He didn't want to add more to that. Mortals are, well, mortal. We perish. I will perish. And he will mourn.

"I am sorry for my behavior. It made you feel unwelcome and you were shaken. You allowed me into your house and offered me kindness and warmth. It was unlike I had ever felt. I hope that you would find in your heart to forgive me. I am terribly sorry."

His voice wavered like he was on the edge of crying. Poor man, or God? Maybe that quote of Obama in one person's dream is accurate, "To be god is the loneliest achievement of them all."

Loki turned around, his state stable again, "We got off on the wrong foot. Let's try again, shall we?"

I smile, nod and extend my hand for a handshake, "I'm y/fullname, your magic buddy!" I say in a fun and playful manner, which makes him chuckle. Oh sooo adorableeeee.

He takes my hand, but not in a handshake. He places his thumb on my knuckles, his fingers below mine and slowly turns my hand so that it faces the ceiling. Oh god no, he's gonna do that gentleman kissing hand thing.

He gives me a soft, genuine smile and bends a little, his eyes on my knuckles and slowly raises my hand. He presses his lips delicately against my burning skin. Loki looks up and stares directly into my eyes. I feel my adrenaline kicking in, I wanted to run away, but his gaze kept me rooted. I looked back into his green eyes, the two of us staring into each other's eyes like peering from a window on a rainy day. He held onto my hand, moving his thumbs across my knuckles oh so slowly. There are no other sounds in this moment, it's locked by the ebbing sounds of our breathing. Our minds were completely empty, we were in this moment.

He was about to speak something when a black door appeared to our left with a soft sound, time to go I would guess.

"See you on the other side." A smirk and my eyes felt heavy again.

I fluttered open my eyes and felt a soft mattress beneath me. Heimdall was on my side when I woke up.

"Indeed nothing ever breaks any law. The matter is not created. It uses your energy. Hence you pass out when you use it in excess. The craft of creation is the heaviest toll. Remember that in combat, you wouldn't want to spend all of your energy on a trivial object. We'll train you to channelize your energies correctly." Heimdall said the last bit looking past me.

I turned my head to that direction and saw Loki sitting by my side, my hand still in his. "Yes we will, darling mischief." He winked and whispered that in my ear, smirking all the while. I was absolutely in shock. Darling?? Mischief?? What is he doing to me??

"You amplify his magic, adding a range of new abilities and adding range to his current abilities." Heimdall continues, "But we have much to learn and know this works. First and foremost, the two of you need to accept each other and trust each other with your lives, literally, it might come to that soon. With the Sedhs hell-bent on finishing off y/n, we cannot be too sure of anything."

Heimdall finished and got up to leave. He looked at Loki and signaled him to leave me too.

"Rest well y/n, training starts tomorrow at the break of dawn." He says one last time and moves out. I smile and watch him leaving, his last thoughts make me blush.

"My darling mischief."
