My hands were shaking from the possibility of what would've happened if the two men walking in front of me hadn't appeared at the right moment. I could've been...I shook my head violently. That didn't happen. But why was that knife so thirsty for my scarlet?

I was trying to figure that out when Loki stopped walking. He hung his head and slowly lifted it back. He turned around to face me with unrestrained rage. That was not Loki, he is known for his diplomacy, known to keep calm and analyze the situation before turning it to his advantage.

"What in the Hel's¹ name are you?! Why?! Why? Why? Why can't I hear you sometimes? Why can I hear you even when I'm far? What is this anomaly?" He was screaming at me. I was too shocked to respond.

I still hadn't processed what happened to me up until now, and now he tells me he can't hear my thoughts when he should and he hears me when he shouldn't possibly. All this anxiety and adrenaline, I was mad and I was crying. Tears hit my clothes faster and heavier. And all he did was look at me questioningly.

I exhaled harder, tried to breathe even but nothing worked, I was done being helpless. I stopped shaking, I stopped crying. "I am a mid-gardian who has absolutely nothing to do in your world or with you. Leave me be!"

Loki's brows furrowed, then relaxed and then his face twisted like he was about to say something, he opened his mouth but didn't say anything. Exhaling sharply, his face went to the look of 'unbelievable'.

"I don't believe her! We took innumerable risks in bringing her here and we get this forsaken attitude!" He points his hand to me, palms up and addresses Heimdall.

"You and I both know why she is here. She is shaken, give her some time. Meanwhile, you remain calm." The deep, booming voice of Heimdall seemed to do the trick. That is, till a few of the other prisoners snickered.

"That was a good couple drama." Sneered one.

"Bet your girlfriend is cheating on you, traitor!" Spat another.

"Hey is it just me or do I see him turning blue?" Mocked one.

They were all pointing to Loki, he must be so mercilessly bullied around here. Not only these felons, but I believe Thor and his friends too. No matter how unintentional, he must be mocked every where. Lying and deceit is in his unfortunate nature, but that doesn't mean he's bad. Sure as hell that made him bitter. Maybe that's why he hates not being able to know what I think.

"Silence!" He yells and a pulse of green escapes him. Like a shockwave it hits every person inside the cells and knocks them down. Even Heimdall staggered. But I remained rooted to where I stood. Yet again, the two of us are baffled.

I look around me, listening to the groaning around me. When I look back to Loki, he is scared. He raised his hands, one finger towards me, the other addressing Heimdall, "Did..did you see that? Heimdall please tell me you saw that! Please! You must know what is happening. Tell me. Tell me!" He was hysterical and definitely hyperventilating. I wasn't sure if mortal psychology applied to Gods but I guess it is, to some extent.

I looked down at myself, to figure out what made him so panicked and to my horrific surprise, my gown had changed. I was in an elegant, dark green gown, mixed with hints of blood red. My hair and accessories were different too. The shockwave hit me in a different manner than others.

Heimdall looked at Loki, then me, "Follow me. Both of you." Loki and I exchanged cautious glances and followed him, staying as far away as possible from each other.

He led us to a vault, Odin's vault to be precise. He walked and stopped at the far end of it, I could feel Loki itching to grab the Tesseract, but curiosity held the better of him.

Heimdall turned and addressed us, placing his weight on the table between the three of us.

"Y/N be very honest in your answer. Did you ever teleport to someplace else? Every had any other strange experience?"

My face flushed, I did have one but I am a little embarrassed of the moments it had caught me in. I was in my bath, singing "Closer" by Chainsmokers, and a bottle of shampoo fell on my toes. I was holding my toes, jumping on one foot, cursing the bottle when I fell. But I didn't hit the floor. I hit dust. It was some entirely different place, definitely not Yorkshire. I panicked and screamed and fell again and landed back in my living room. I was on my back and passed out for an hour.

"Yes, I...once fell through some portal kinda thing, but I was back to my spot in a few minutes, after passing through it again." I reply sheepishly.

"When was it?"

"2012."

"That's when the Convergence Portals had opened."

He let it sink before continuing.

"My theory, as it goes, is that the portal you used was the one Loki had used," he paused to pass a judging look at Loki, "to get back to Asgard from Svartalfheim. Since the timing of the usage was so close, I believe that his magic mingled with you and got integrated with your soul."

Loki and I inhaled sharply, our mouth agape. This is ridiculous! How can this ever be possible?

"But anyone could have fallen through the portal!"

"We don't call it destiny without reason, do we?"

"But why me? I...this is impossible!" I cried.

"To believe, yes. What happened has happened. I didn't agree to this but soon many of the Sedhs were being sent to finish you. Each time I had to intercept them before they could reach Midgard. They sensed something in you that perhaps even we don't recognize yet. One of them had uttered the word "Loki" before dying, but I couldn't yet ask of Loki. I captured another Sedh and asked him of answers. He swallowed poison before divulging much but he did indicate to a possible binding of magic between Loki and a particular being on Midgard. With no way to find you, I told Loki little and asked him to send a pulse of his magic throughout Midgard."

"The Blackout."

"Pardon me?"

"Along the same timelines you mention, our Earth had a blackout. Everything shut down for a few seconds. As mysteriously as everything shut down, the power was restored. No body could figure out why."

"And in those few seconds, we found a spike of magical presence from your location. So I sent Loki down to search for a magical being. When you let him in and touched him, I saw the magic surging from within you. I passed onto Loki to bring you forth."

"I did create a small portal with the magic that did surge. A cup fell off the counter and I 'caught' it."

Pin-drop silence. I was processing every bit of information that had been passed onto me. A deep breath in, a deep breath out. One, two, three breaths like this before I asked, "Why is my existence important? I mean why am I needed for the delicate balance of the Nine Realms?"

"We can't figure that out either. All we know, is that we need you and Loki to use your magic together. Loki, create a hologram on your palm." He instructed Loki.

He raised his left hand and a produced a stunning hologram of a red rose. It looked absolutely real. Heimdall passed a finger through it.

"Now, y/n hold his hand and imagine the rose to be real."

"But that has never been achieved. These are, like you said, holograms."

Heimdall simply came and stood behind me. I hesitantly moved my left hand to lock with Loki's right, and imagined the rose to be real.

A shimmer of red and dark green passed the hologram and Loki now actually held it.

The rose became real!

Loki and I were shocked. What in the world??? How is this possible?!

"But how? It is impossible to create matter witho-" And guess why did Heimdall stand behind me? I passed out from the magic.
