The bottom of my shoes clicked sharply against the marble floors of the castle, indicating my eagerness to reach the Bifrost. All I wanted now, more than anything, was Shuaya in flesh and blood. I wanted him. And then I'd make him suffer, a lot more than what he deems terrible and horrific.

I would pull him, limb to limb, strech him hand to hand, leg to leg, so much and so far that he'd come to the point of being ripped apart. The skin on his chest would be stretched so tight that if I placed even the most blunt of knives on it, it would slice him open like hot knife on butter. But I wouldn't rip him apart. Instead, his streched and tension filled skin would then be subjected to whips. And that'd be just the beginning of it all. I would proceed to-

"Loki!"

Thor's voice derailed my current line of thought and as a result, I was annoyed.

"Ah yes, you. Have something important to impart? I'm in a hurry and am very eager to get going."

"Heimdall requires your assistance with the repairs of the Bifrost."

"As a matter of fact, I'm headed right there." I turn to leave.

"Wait! Father was," he stepped closer to me, lowering his otherwise booming voice, "asking if there was an extra person moving around the castle."

Y/n.

Allfather always gets to know, miraculously, if there is an addition of soul within the castle gates.

"No one needs to know about her presence. You can't tell Odin, else he will..." I went silent. Else he will what?

"Nonetheless, I'll handle this. You keep my matters within your tongue." I dismiss Thor and ponder over this new thought of questioning.

Odin cannot get to know about Y/n's presense else he will...send her back to Midgard? Or lock her here? The latter I wouldn't ever let happen. But what about the former? Was I ready to let go of her? Could I stay away from her? I was ready to do just that a few days back, when I thought her dead. But now that she's alive and within my reach, I cannot help but be what I've always been – selfish. I need her with me, by me. But isn't that choice be supposed to be hers to meet? Shouldn't that decision be left with her?

I don't know! All I know is that I care about her, more than I ever did about myself.

By the time I reached Heimdall, my pace was a drag and my mood melancholy but my mind was buzzing with ideas about how I can sabotage the bridge just enough to allow intra-realm travel and not inter-realm travel.

Heimdall acknowledged my presence with the barest of the nods and focused back on to repairing the bridge.

I busied myself with the blueprints and schematics of the bridge and the repair plans. Looking at them, a solution formulated.

Theoretically speaking, each realm is sealed off from each other by energy barriers. In Midgardian terms, the Bifrost is an Einstein-Rosen bridge commonly known as wormholes. If an object is hurled through it faster than the speed of light, it can emerge through the wormhole safely without disrupting the space-time continuum. To break through the inter-realm energy barrier, the beam of the Bifrost has to have enough energy to excite the electrons of the barrier so that a person can cross through them.

If I were to weaken the energy core of the Bifrost which is triggered by Hofund¹, the electrons of the energy barrier would never get excited enough, sealing off the possibility of passing through them. Since Asgard and Yaana are in the same realm, effectively between the same energy barriers, I can have both: my revenge from Shuaya, and Y/n.

Yes, this might work. Running the calculations and the possible outcomes a few more times, I was certain of the success of my plan.

I moved to the pedestal where Hofund was locked and touched the base of it. I could feel the energy from the core coming from the deepest depths of the bridge. Heimdall wasn't looking and no one else was around. Placing both my palms over the round base, I focused on creating layers of tungsten reinforced with ice and magic, on the inside of it.

Tungsten for its high melting point, ice to cool it down afterwards, and magic to keep the cycle going. I focused and the layers grew, bottling the neck of the outlet such that lesser energy would be able to pass. In this way, the energy released would be enough to impart the speed of light to the travelling object whilst controlling the extent of the energy.

I got up before Heimdall could see me around Hofund, he's rather protective of it.

"Everything to your liking, Prince Loki?"

"Oh yes. All good to go." I say with my hands held together behind my back - a relaxed pose.

"It's time. Any place you'd like to visit?"

I was to say Yaana, but before that I had to be sure that that rat was still alive.

"Heimdall, may I request you to search for the Crown Prince of Yaana, Shuaya Tasre?"

"As you command." Heimdall nodded and closed his golden eyes, focusing on to find Shuaya. Moments passed and my anxiousness increased. I read every expression on his face, which weren't a lot, but couldn't deduce much. I guess I'll have to wait.

"He lives. Within the debris of Yaana."

Truly a rat.

"Could you try Yaana? Although I wouldn't travel there."

He opened the Bifrost to Yaana and by the look on his face, I could tell it worked. Now for the final test.

"Let's try Jotunheim, time to pay Laufey a visit."

Jotunheim is Utgard, a realm different than Asgard and Midgard. Heimdall shouldn't be able to open it.

"As you wish." Heimdall lifted Hofund and jammed it into the base. The bright lights of the Bifrost began forming and I stepped into it. A second passed and I was still holding my ground. Keeping up the facade, my eyebrows shot up, questioning Heimdall indirectly the cause of the delay.

"It appears that the Bifrost isn't fully functional yet. Intra-realm travel is open. Inter-realm travel, however, will have to wait." He looked disappointed but went back to tinkering with the structure. I let out the breath I was holding.

Yes, my plan is coming together. I'll rest for now, and then at the break of dawn, I'll go get that rat.
