"Do you want me?"
KIARA'S POV:
What am I thinking? I sat at my desk, tapping away on my computer, filling out reports from today's mission.
My eyes kept averting to the glass door, leading to the balcony. My heart raced with anticipation.
Stop it. I told myself. It's not right.
Dabi made it clear by his words and actions. I'm in the freindzone, and even if I wasn't a villain and a hero could never be together. Yes, my parents worked out okay, but look at what happened in the end.
I should've arrested Dabi the moment I met him instead of giving him pity-heck, I felt bad in the state he was in despite committing a Capital Crime!
Even now, I can't push him away. I'm attached to him like glue.
Frustrated, I slammed my computer shut, not getting anywhere with the documents. I got up and plopped onto my bed as I groaned into the pillow.
Attempting to fall asleep, I hid under the covers. Shutting my eyes closed, I tried slipping into the comfort of the darkness, but to no avail.
TAP TAP TAP
I pushed the covers away, twisting my body around to eye the dark figure behind the glass door.
Dabi.
My heart skipped a beat.
I jumped out of bed, heading over, and nearly slamming the door open.
"Woah, little mouse," Dabi grinned and leaned one arm against the doorframe as he looked upon me. "You excited to see me or something?"
I rolled my eyes, trying to hide the fact that I was glad to see him.
"No, I'm just frustrated." It wasn't a lie, but a good excuse at that.
He looked me up and down, and I suddenly felt self-conscious. "With what?"
"...Work," I state, and I return his gaze upon me. "What are you doing here, exactly? I have nothing assigned for you or need of your help."
"Ouch." He placed a hand over his chest, and I got a good at his veins. "I thought you'd be happy to see me, doll-face."
"In your dreams." I stepped inside, allowing him to come through. "Your-"
"-Shoes, I know, Carrots, relax." He waved off, taking a seat at my desk and tugging his shoes off.
I nod, shutting the door closed. "Well, what are you doing here?"
Dabi didn't respond, and by the looks of it, he was thinking. Something must've been on his mind, but I didn't push on the fact.
"Let's go somewhere," he suggests, running his hands across his knees.
"Sorry?" I furrowed my brows.
"You said you're frustrated, right?" He raised a brow, giving me a skeptical look.
I slowly nod my head. "Yes... I did."
