"I want a man that's already mine, but he feels so far away."

KIARA'S POV:

Me and Yuna went on a quick car trip out of the city before her departure and the Hero Billboard Charts coming up this weekday.

I decided to visit my father, Hajime. He moved out of the neighborhood near the Todoroki's after I had gone off to hero school. He said he didn't want to be near that house anymore after I left because he had been on edge ever since Touya had passed away.

"This is a nice place to live in. The scenery is nice." Yuna fixed her sunglasses, admiring the mountainous hills through the shades. "I can see why your father chose this place. It's quite far from the city."

"Yeah." I checked the rearview mirror. I haven't driven as much as before. "But it gets a little scary with the rockslides that happen around here."

"Really?" She turned to look at me. "Has your father encountered any?"

"No, thankfully," I informed. "He's mostly going out. I still don't get why he moved so far away in the first place."

THIRD-PERSON POV:

"Ah, Kiara, Yuna. How good it is to see you again!" Hijame smiled widely, hugging his daughter before the same to her close friend. "Come on in. I finished making some hot tea and laid out some snacks for you both."

The three stepped inside, entering the dining room. Three cups of hot tea, fluffy slices of cake on plates, and small forks rested on the table. Steam was coming out of the hot mugs. He had finished making them just in time.

They sat down, and he asked for them to eat.

"How is work for you both?" he asked, blowing his tea. "I would assume it's doing well for you both. Climbing the ranks and seeing you both stopping the villains on time."

"It is," I smile, taking a bite of my cake. "But it's the same routine as usual. Nothing new."

"Ah, well, something new will come," he reassured, waving his hand. "I'm sure of it."

It did.

Dabi.

He came into her life unexpectedly. One minute they're fighting. The next, they're teaming up until they get too close and finally ease the tension between them. Becoming official. Well, that's what Dabi said, but she didn't bring it up.

Kiara hadn't seen him since that afternoon when he came into her house and fucked her to oblivion—anyway, that wasn't the point. What mattered was that he didn't stay because the League of Villains was far more important than her. The only grip of reality that kept him from sinking further into his revenge plot.

She was his anchor.

"Oh, Yuna. Kiara told me you were going to Korea in a few days." Her father's voice brings her back into the conversation. "Are you excited?"

Yuna hums. "Yes, I am. I haven't been there for a while. I'm going to the countryside to help out."

"That's great. Good luck to you," Hajime encouraged.

"Arigato."
