"—for Touya..."

KIARA'S POV:

I sat in the seats, the other pro heroes sitting by each other.

Hawks and Endeavor were on my right as they were chatting quietly, a gap between the chairs like waiting if someone would sit, but with others like Miruko sitting next to me, having to finish a conversation.

A loud sound of someone speaking on the microphone filled my ears and it was a woman.

"This is the first billboard chart since the Kamino incident, where the Symbol of Peace, All Might, was driven to an early retirement. Everyone understands how important this is!" The woman exclaimed in her words, standing in the crowds.

She was right. All Might, the hero everyone looked up to, retired after that unexpected and horrifying fight that happened—even Shouto was involved but was lucky enough not to get in trouble since he didn't interfere by fighting.

"Until today, heroes did not appear on stage for the announcement, but this time is different! Take a look!"

Though, I wasn't feeling excited, I was nervous, going up on that stage after so long, my legs shaking beneath me. I went over my speech thousands of times but it felt like the words memorized in my head were crumbling down like I was going to forget them. My overthinking was coming in until the woman's voice beamed in.

"Number ten! Dropping down one rank from number nine last time, Dragoon Hero: Ryukyu!"

I watched her walk up to the stage, saying something to herself so maybe no one would hear.

But the heroes were called on the stage, while I was zoning out.

Before Miruko was called she nudged her elbow on my arm, getting my attention. "You're up next later Arakan, good luck and try not to zone out." She whispered as they called her out on the stage, getting up from her seat.

Best Jeanist wasn't here due to his injuries.

"Number four! A hero who has impressively stayed in the high ranks! Pro hero: Arakan!" It was my turn next. I gulped the clump of saliva down my throat, getting up and going up the stage with the other pro heroes, my legs continued to shake, and later I turned around to see the audience, my heart beating against my ribcage.

"Hero Kyoshi wasn't able to make it due to her work in Korea currently, which brings us to Number Two! He does things his way, but he's fierce! With great momentum, he's reached the number two spot! Wing hero: Hawks!"

"And...! He's been the temporary number one, but today... he's really, truly in the number one spot. He's waited a really long time! Flame hero: Endeavor!"

I looked at him, glaring, anger building up inside of me. I always disliked him, after what he did to his family, but even finding out Dabi was Touya, more anger filled my body from just looking at him, I just wanted to punch him right then and there.

What was my future now?

After a while, the interviewer spoke to the other heroes, and then I was next.

"Arakan! What do you have to say about your speech?" The lady asked me, smiling and I could see in the corner of my eye, that Hawks was moving his head around in annoyance.

But Hawks jumped in before I could speak.

I was almost pissed, but since he interrupted I probably wouldn't have to mess up my speech, so here we are.

"Who's gonna be happy listening to that? Stain?" He spoke, and I think it was for the hero next to me, Edgeshot as the room fell silent.

"I like you! You're cheeky!" Miruko said, looking over at Hawks, almost impressed.
