Third Person

Aurora sat across from her client in the suspect holding area, trying to get information out of her. The client was not budging. Already it has been a week and she refused to speak on what happened, or what didn't happen. "Mrs. Grant, I'm on your side. All I'm trying to do is keep you out of prison. In order to do that I need you to cooperate with me and answer the questions."

The old lady did not response. She sat leaned back in the chair with her arms crossed. A look of sorrow on her face. Aurora took a deep breath. She closed the case file folder, knowing this wasn't going anywhere. "Let's meet up again in two days. I hope by then you're ready to answer some questions. If not you do realize you can end up in prison for the rest of your life? I want to do everything in my power to not let that happen. Sleep on it some more and we'll try again soon."

Aurora left the jail building, getting into her car. She didn't enjoy being in such buildings, but it was her job and she loved her job. She enjoyed being able to fight for someone who was unable to fend for themselves. She's won many cases throughout the years, but she had her doubts about this one. She has dealt with uncooperative clients before, but none like Mrs. Grant. She hadn't spoken one word to Aurora since the case opened.

When Aurora got home she was greeted by her daughter and her nieces and nephews. They ran up to her as she entered the door, attacking her legs in a hug. She greeted them all with a hug and kisses as well. "Hi my babies, how was school?" they all replied with an enthusiastic good.

"Mommy, look what I made you." She picked up her daughter, taking the drawing from her.

"Thank you baby, it's beautiful. Let's go put it on the wall." She carried her into the living room. Aurora taped the back of the drawing, putting it on the wall to add to the collection of drawings the kids made throughout the years.

Aurora put down her daughter on the floor, "Go play with your siblings baby. I love you."

She kissed her mother before running off, "I love you too!"

Aurora went to the kitchen where Odyssey was making dinner. "How was work?"

Aurora sighed with a head shake. She opened the fridge looking for something to drink, "My murder suspect isn't talking. I think we're just going to have to take the plea deal on this one. Boss man only gave me two weeks with this case, if I can't get her to talk by Friday it's over."

"I'll take a look at the case today. We can work something out to get her to talk or prove she's innocent at least. This isn't the first time Mrs. Grant was accused of murder you know. I did some research while you were out, turns out she's been in prison twice before. Once for extortion and another for sexual assault."

"Do you really think an old lady like her can be capable of such things?" Aurora knew not to judge a book by its cover. Working as a lawyer she realized most people who looked innocent were actually guilty and pretty capable of doing things she never imagined they could. Mrs. Grant was different. Her case didn't sit well with Aurora. There was something behind the story not being told. She knows if she dug deeper she can figure out what.

Odyssey handed Aurora the plate of food she fixed up for her, "You never know." Odyssey then shouted to the kids to come eat. All five of them came running into the kitchen, jumping up on the stools. Zayn showed up in the kitchen as well. They all sat gathered around the kitchen island eating the spaghetti and meatballs prepared.

Odyssey smiled watching her four kids make a mess of their face with the spaghetti. She turned to look at Aurora who had Layla on her lap. They made small talk, Aurora laughing at the ridiculous jokes her daughter told. Odyssey smiled once more before leaving the kitchen.

She went into hers and Aurora's home office. She took a seat at the desk, opening up one of the drawers and taking out the case file folder she was currently working on. She opened the folder reading the case. Odyssey leaned back in the chair, realizing the case she had wasn't one she was too pleased with.

"Harry Styles. I haven't heard that name in six years."
