Aurora
"Aurora get back here!" My mother yelled. I continued to ignore her. I ran up the stairs, slamming the door to my room. I paced around the room, trying to control my anger. It was always something with her. For a moment I stopped pacing and stood in the middle of the room, unsure of what to do next. I needed to get away from here. I needed to clear my mind and be away from my mother. It was the only way I can deal with all the changes happening so fast.
I thought about calling Odyssey, but she was away on a trip with her family. I sat down on the bed with my phone in hand. I pursed my lips as I scrolled through my contacts, stopping at the familiar name. It has been so long since I last saw Harry. We both decided it was best if we took a break from each other before the wedding. We needed our sanity. Being together twenty four seven was not ideal, neither would it make either of us sane.
We have actually never talked over the phone with each other. I always try to avoid phone calls as much as I could. I clicked on the number, bringing the phone to my ear. The phone rang once, then again, then once more until he finally picked up.
"Hey stranger."
His voice was filled with amuse and curiosity. I brought the phone away from my ear, thinking about hanging up, before bringing it back against my ear once again. "Let's take a road trip." The foreign words left my mouth unexpectedly. I never imagined myself asking Harry on a getaway. Yet here I was, doing exactly that.
"Where to?"
"Anywhere. Away from reality. Just for a little while."
.
After the long two hours of driving, Harry and I finally arrived at our destination. We were currently in Boston. More like the deserted part of town. It was peaceful, the only sounds being from cars passing and little to none people walking around.
Harry held out his hand for me to take, "Let's go." I carefully placed my hand onto of his, he held onto my hand securely, leading me into a building. We went inside a lift, reaching to the twelfth floor. Harry continued to hold onto my hand as we went through an electric storage room until we finally reached a door that lead to the outside. I looked around my surroundings trying to figure out exactly where it was we were currently at.
The ground under us was no longer a ground, but rocks. We were on the roof. I detached my hand from his, taking a step towards the edge of the building. Harry stood close behind. I looked to see the ground below us. We were high up. "How do you know about this place?"
He shrugged nonchalantly. "I came across it a while back, it's a peaceful and inspirational place to write lyrics."
I backed away from the ledge, sitting down near the entrance and leaning my back against the door. "You write songs?"Harry sat down next to me, "Just for fun."
"Can I hear one?"
He took a minute to think before nodding, "Okay, but don't laugh."
"I won't. Promise." He unlocked his phone and went to the notes. Harry was very hesitant about singing. "You don't have to if you don't want." I reassured him.
"I want to." I nodded in response. I sat quietly and patiently, waiting for him to begin. He began to hum a soothing melody while tapping his finger on the back of his phone. Harry's eyes scanned the phone repeatedly before he closed them.
