Aurora

The next few days were weird to say the least. I have been working with Harry in order to improve my skills. I thought it would be awkward working with him, but it was the complete opposites. We tolerated each other and spoke as if nothing ever happened between us. I was thankful for the non awkward meetings, but I had a feeling he was up to something. Today was to be my last meeting with him. When I got to my office he was already there waiting for me. I placed my briefcase down before taking a seat at the desk.

I shuffled around papers and folders, trying to get settled. Harry watched me do so until I was finally done. He leaned back in the chair and crossed his leg over the other, "For our last meeting I thought we'd compare your previous case files with your recent one to see the improvement."

"Okay." We didn't waste anytime in trying to converse. I pulled out my last recent case file and my most recent one which was of a rape victim. Harry took both files. He read each of them thoroughly before getting back to me. "Was it easier continuing the work from home?"

"It definitely was a challenge, but I got the work done twice faster. Although this case can't be compared to my previous one, it's a matter of principal really. Sometimes the client refuses to cooperate which is what happened with my last case, making the process longer than it should be. It was easier defending the rape victim than it was the murder suspect, the two cannot be compared."

"Yes, that makes sense."

After going through many more case files throughout the evening, our meeting was coming to an end. "Your work has improved greatly, although you were already an excellent lawyer. It's always good to try new techniques to better your skills. If you continue to work from home for most, if not all of your cases, I guarantee you will become the lawyer your boss wishes he was."

"Thankyou Harry." He gathered his belongings into his briefcase. I flashed me a smile before standing up from the chair to walk towards the door. I did not want to divulge it, but I was disappointed our daily meetings have come to an end. As much as I disliked Harry at the moment, he made me feel at ease. Which sounds weird. I told myself I wouldn't get attached and involved with this guy, but here I am once again. It was the truth. I didn't want to stop seeing him.

I stood up from my chair and called after him before he had the chance to leave, "Harry?" He quickly turned around. He walked back over to me, awaiting my next words. I came from around the desk to get closer to him until I was standing across from him. "If the offer is still on the table. I would like to go on that date you mentioned."

"Of course it is. If you aren't too busy tonight, there is this place I would like to show you, I think you'd really love it."

I hummed with curiosity, "That sounds intriguing. You can come by at eleven thirty."

"I'll see you then."

"Okay" After Harry left the office, I left shortly after, getting home to get changed. I got home and went upstairs to check on Layla. She was sleeping peacefully in her bed with Odyssey. I went to my bedroom. I went into my closet, rummaging through my clothes to find something decent to wear. I didn't spend much time trying to find an outfit, it was already eleven o'clock. I settled on a ankle length pencil skirt and a chambray shirt. I slipped on my wedges then headed downstairs. When I got downstairs, Odyssey was now in the kitchen, wide awake.

"Where are you going looking all dolled up?"

"Out. I hope you don't mind staying with Layla until I get back."

She walked over to me, than around me. "Of course not. Where to?"

"On a date." She raised an eyebrow and gave me a look. I didn't want to tell her I was going out with Harry. Especially after I was on a date with her brother not even three days ago. I told her I would never get involved with Harry again. I told her I was steady focusing on myself. Yet here I am getting involved. It is wrong of me to go out with Harry after telling Odysseus he had nothing to worry about. I couldn't help it. Clearly. Harry seems to have a way of pulling me back in every time.

"With Odysseus?"

"Um, no actually" As hard as I tried to avoid the question, it was impossible. The doorbell rung and Odyssey was already speeding towards the door. I followed behind her, nervous of her reaction once she realizes who it was I was going out with tonight. She swung the door opened, of course, coming face to face with a very handsome looking Harry. His smile slowly disappeared as he saw Odyssey in front of him.

"Hello."

"Harry Styles. What a surprise."

"It is nice to see you as well Odyssey."

"Yeah. Right. Give us a minute, Aurora isn't ready." With that she closed the door and turned to me.

"What happened to focusing on your mental health? What about my brother? Do you plan on telling Odysseus you are no longer interested in him?"

"I never said I wasn't interested in Odysseus anymore. I very much am, but I'm also interested in Harry and I want to see how this goes. I realize this seems wrong and you may believe getting involved with Harry is the worst idea possible, but please don't try to stop me."

"I'm not going to try and stop you Aurora. Not anymore. You are an adult. You are capable of making your own decisions even if they aren't the right ones. I'll just sit back and see how all this turns out. Do as you please. Go out with Harry, be interested in Odysseus, but just know, when he breaks your heart again I won't be there to pick you up anymore. I can't deal with this constant repetition anymore Aurora. I have kids and a family to care for, as do you, once you get your mind out of the gutter and stop messing around with this guy and start putting Layla first you will start to realize what your priorities are."

"That is not fair. Layla always comes first and you know this. Nothing can ever change that."

"Goodnight. Enjoy your date." She walked away without another word, leaving me to rethink everything. I gathered myself before opening the door. Harry smiled once again. I on the other hand was no longer excited as I once was.

"I'm sorry Harry, I can't do this right now. You should go home."
