Peter felt power flow through his veins, he felt stronger than before. He clenched and unclenched his fists.

" How are you feeling, Peter? " asked Anansi.

" Great, I can feel the power, like I'm ready to take everything on with my hands tied behind my back," said Peter.

" well...you are not ready to do any of that stuff now?" said Anansi.

Peter got confused.

" What do you mean? I'm feeling all right."

" You need to understand the power first, you need to understand the source,  you need to understand the web. You can't be almighty powerful after your ascension, you are what we call a young god now. You have to learn what is a web of life, its origin and what are your responsibilities as a great weaver. "
Said Anansi.

" I... you are right," said Peter.

" that's why I'm here to guide you. Let me tell you a great tale forgotten through time " said Anansi spreading his arms wide.

" a story right now? Didn't you say threats are coming and you are going to explain my role? " asked Peter while folding his hands.

" Patience young Parker, to understand your role you need to know all about the origin of the web of life " replied Anansi.

" I'm also known as the great storyteller, so let me continue"

Anansi started narrating his story to Peter.

ANANSI SPEAKING

My place of birth was Lake Bosumtwi which you now know as, Modern-day Ghana,  I was born to an African race of gods known as Vodū, my father was the sky god Nyame and my mother was the earth mother Nana or Gaea.

I was born with a great vision to see far beyond time and fate. In my youth, I was a trickster and a storyteller. Everybody mocked me for my powers, they deemed my vision as too weak. I was not the most powerful of the Vodū gods.

I fell in love with a fellow spider, her name was Mmoatia, she was my first love and we spent some most cherished time together but fate had other plans, she passed away. I kept her soul essence within me to remember her by.

As I grew older and wiser, my powers started to grow. The Ashanti tribe were the first ones to worship me. I became recognised among the Vodū gods, as the all seer Anansi, I was able to see all the probable outcomes of the future.
This gained me the seats among the Gods of Wakanda.

Then I met my second love, Hadari-Yao, the goddess of the storm. We courted each other for a long time and got engaged and soon to be wed.

But then I proposed an idea to the gods. I wanted to expand my vision and connect every living being by the web and to see and guide them. I was afraid of losing Hadari-Yao too, as I did my first wife. I wanted to avoid the fate of losing her.

They mocked me and called me foolish. Even Hadar-Yao didn't seem to believe me. I proved them all wrong, u created the web, but my first web showed only instances of the events and was connected to a small scale area. I was only connected to one part of the world.

But my achievement gained the attention of the likes of Mephisto, Zeus, Odin and many other greedy beings. So I placed my web into another plane where only I can access it.

My brethren, the Vodū, turned their backs on me. They feared all attention will be on them because of my web. They felt threatened by my knowledge and wisdom and feared other pantheons will go to war with them.
My webs potential was great. Even Hadar-Yao hadn't stood by me.
