WITH CAROL
Carol staggered back, her gaze locked on the woman before her. Confusion etched across her face, she wiped the blood from her nose, still reeling from the powerful punch and the shocking reveal.
"I... I don't have a daughter," Carol stammered, her breath heavy. She searched the woman's eyes for some kind of explanation, something that would make sense of this sudden attack.
The woman, standing tall in her dark Captain Marvel suit, her helmet cracked to reveal a single brown eye, chuckled coldly. "No, you don't. Not in this universe," she replied, her voice dripping with resentment. "And I hope it stays that way."
Before Carol could respond, the woman raised her hand in a familiar gesture—fingers curled just like Peter would when shooting his webs. But instead of webbing, a photon-powered energy shot out, coalescing into glowing, pulsating webs. They snaked through the air and latched onto Carol, binding her arms and pulling her down to her knees with a force that made her grunt in pain.
"What—?" Carol struggled against the bonds, the energy searing into her, weakening her strength as the photon web tightened. She looked up at her attacker, stunned by the precision and power of the move. "Who the hell are you really?"
The woman, now standing over Carol with a smirk, removed her helmet. Long blonde hair cascaded out, the tips of it fading into brown. Her piercing blue eyes were lined with dark eyeshadow that gave her the look of tribal war paint. A single black line painted under her lips along her chin only added to her fierce, warlike appearance.
"I am Aurora Parker," she said, her voice steady and filled with pride. "Starlancer. The product of my father's legacy."
Carol's heart skipped a beat at the name. Parker. It couldn't be...
"But you," Aurora continued, her tone shifting to one of disdain, "I know who you are, Carol Danvers. I've heard your name all my life. And I have nothing but contempt for it."
Carol's eyes widened, confusion swirling with realization. There was something deeply personal in Aurora's voice, something that told her this wasn't just a random attack. "Parker? Peter Parker...?"
Aurora's lips curled into a smirk as Carol said his name, but the disdain remained. "Yes. I take pride in my father's name, in his legacy. But you... you're just a stain on it."
Carol's fists clenched as she struggled against the photon webs binding her. Her confusion was quickly replaced with anger and disbelief. "What the hell did I do to deserve that kind of hatred?" she growled, her voice trembling with a mix of frustration and pain.
Aurora glared down at her, the contempt in her eyes burning brightly. "You want to know why I hate you?" Her voice cracked with emotion. "In my universe, you left us. You abandoned my father the moment I was born. To you, family was nothing more than a burden. Something that held you down from being the great Captain Marvel."
