It was still a mystery to, maybe not everyone but at least to Sunoo, what it was that made her the most perfect person in the school. There was no clear thing that just made her perfect.
He wasn't sure if it was because she was in the volley team or if it was because everyone knew and admired her because of being the star player on the volley team. Maybe it was how her hair always looked perfect. Maybe it was her smile or even her laugh.
Sunoo just knew. She was perfect.
Sitting in his own dreamland whenever the classes got boring his mind always wandered to that one encounter he had with her in the start of the school year. It was only one encounter but it was such a special event to him.
She had been late to her class and had accidentally run into him, making him drop all his books and papers. They had never spoken, he wasn't even sure if she knew who he was. But she had been down on the floor before him and gathered all his books. Sunoo hadn't even got a chance to pick up his books himself.
He remembered her smile and the following sentence that flew from her lips in perfect detail. He remembered everything about that day. How her eyes sparkled, even when she looked at him. How her lips pulled up in that genuine smile she showed to everyone.
"I'm sorry for the inconvenience, if anything is broken tell me and I'll fix it."
His friends liked to tease him for all those things he saw in her. Of course they had their small minor celebrity crushes on her as well. Who wouldn't? But they had never been so in love with her as Sunoo had. That boy was head over heels for her.
He remembered the exciting bubbly happiness he had felt when he realized that he would have music classes with her in their second year of high school. He was so excited to see her in his classes. He knew that was the class he'd always look forward to.
The start of that second school year had been unreal to him. He had had his first music class with her that very first day. The whole day he had been unable to concentrate on anything, he was only focused on how he was gonna see her in that music class.
So when the time finally came to go to the music room he had never run faster down the hallways, earning a lot of yells from his teachers, but he didn't care. For once he didn't care if he broke the rules, he was so desperate to see her. It couldn't have been a surprise to him that he was the first in the classroom, even the teacher wasn't there yet.
He would silently sit and wait as the other students entered the classroom until she came. However, she didn't come alone. She was with one of her teammates from the volleyteam, laughnig at something as she walked through the door with her friend.
Her beautiful eyes had searched each centimeter of the room, seeing only two chairs were left unoccupied, one at the back of the classroom and a second right beside Sunoo. Sunoo's heart had maybe just leaped a dozen times when her teammate had taken the seat in the back of the class and she had sat down beside him. It was so unreal to him.
He tried his best to not sit and stare at her as the class started, but her soft flowery scent had made him dizzy. Not in a bad way. It was just only a scent he could've imagined in his wildest dreams. Now he was so close to her and he was able to smell her soft scent, a thing he had only dreamed off at night.
It had only gotten even more unreal when he had been paired with her for their first music assignment. It had made him even more unable to focus throughout the day. Just the thought of spending excess time with her, just the two of them, he wasn't even sure he could do it.
But he never had to worry about that. Shortly before they started on their assignment he disappeared from school, he was in the search of accomplishing his dreams of becoming an idol.
Everyday he would feel guilty for leaving her behind with the assignment all alone, but at the same time he hoped she would see him on the television, seeing him chase his dreams.
They were never more than acquintances, but he could only hope that she was watching him.
"I hope you don't mind me having an intern for today's recording," the voice of their producer had snapped Sunoo out of his reminiscence of his earlier high school years and looked to their producer, gesturing to the girl sitting beside him.
She had the eyes and the wide smile Sunoo would never forget in his entire life. And as she looked at the seven boys in front of her, for once Sunoo felt himself getting insecure. She wouldn't even spare him another glance now that he stood among six other extremely handsome boys.
But when he looked up at her, he realized how wrong he was. She didn't spare the other boys a glance she just looked at him with a wide grin, awakening all the feelings he used to have for her. She quietly raised her hand and gave him a small wave, his heart immediately doing sommersaults in his chest.
He was still in love with her.
