Once, not long ago, two wails rung out on the same hallway of a hospital. Only wee minutes apart, if not seconds. Only fate had it so that the two new mothers just so happened to live beside each other and only real fate would force the two kids to grow up together, with no regards for their medical condition or gender.

"Why hello there Jiyeon-ie, how may I help you today?" the woman who opened the door smiled down at the young girl, only a four year old with small braids and a bit too long bangs hanging down in her eyes.

"Is Jungwon feeling alright today?" the small girl happily questioned and showed a wide smile of her immature teeth. Very young, yet very well aware that her best friend sometimes couldn't handle playing with her.

"I'm afraid he isn't too well today Jiyeon-ie," the woman in the door admitted making the girl's smile falter immediately before she smiled again, "that's alright," the girl beamed, "I'll just come back again later."

With that the small girl walked one door down the hallway in the apartment building. The woman smiled softly as she watched the girl disappear into her own home, how she felt bad at rejecting the girl any time she came to check on Jungwon, but she didn't have to wait long before the three normal small knocks was back on her door, once again it was Jiyeon.

"I'm sorry Jiyeon-ie... but it's only been two minutes since you were here last," the woman reminded once again and Jiyeon just nodded before holding up a small polar bear teddy.

"This is my happy bear... can I go and give it to Jungwon-ah? It'll make him better," Jiyeon proudly spoke, a statement the woman couldn't help but smile at before she just nodded and let the small girl in.

Jiyeon immediately skipped down towards the room she knew as Jungwon's, quietly and carefully opening the door to the room. The room was quiet only a small boy laying in his bed under the covers that was his absolute favorite color, blue.

"Jungwon-ah?" Jiyeon carefully called out, making Jungwon turn around his bed and slowly sit up to look at her.

"Mama let you in?" Jungwon looked at the girl in confusion as she reached up and closed the door before nodding, "but I can't play."

"I know that," Jiyeon hummed as she waddled over to Jungwon's bed and extended the polar bear to him, "feel better bear."

"For me?" Jungwon questioned as his eyes widened and he grabbed onto the bear that Jiyeon extended to him, while Jiyeon happily nodded.

"It makes me happy when I'm sad... it'll make you better," Jiyeon spoke and Jungwon just stared between her and the bear.

"But mama says it's my heart," Jungwon quietly whispered as if it was some secret, "she says i'm too strong for it."

"Oh well..." Jiyeon looked around as if to search for a solution before she looked back at him, as if a light bulb had turned on above her head, "I have an idea! You're stronger than me," Jiyeon stated and Jungwon cocked his head to the side, "I get your heart and you get mine."

"I can do that?" Jungwon questioned in shock and Jiyeon immediately nodded.

"Ma says my heart is too strong," Jiyeon lied in the way any other child would, "I'll ask her if we can switch!"

"Thank you!" Jungwon beamed before his eyes immediately began rolling around, something Jiyeon already had seen him do before.

"You need to lay down," she reminded and helped him lay down in the clumsy way any other four-year-old would. She carefully patted his forehead before making sure he had the small polar bear in his embrace, "I'll ask ma if we can switch," Jiyeon assured and pressed a small peck to Jungwon's cheek, making a small dimple immediately appear where her lips had been.
