*Warning* Vivid gore.

I woke up in a puddle of my own sweat. My heart was beating so rapidly that I thought it would burst out of my chest. I quickly got up and ran out of my room to check on my parents. That dream was too real, it was too vivid.

Which meant it wasn't a dream at all... she was right the whole time.

Their bedroom was empty, and so were the living room and kitchen. I shouted out but there was no answer. I looked at the clock and saw that it was one in the afternoon. They, along with many others, were at my grandma's to celebrate her 1000th birthday. Normally Kree don't celebrate many birthdays because we live so damn long but milestones like this were considered important and worth honoring. Her house was two blocks away, and I had no idea when this event would occur if it didn't happen already.

Shit.

This is all my fault. I should've left earlier.

Not caring about my appearance, I slipped on some shoes and ran out of the house in my pajamas. I ran as fast as my legs would carry me, my messy blonde hair flowing behind me. By the sound of it, the Skrulls were not only watching me but monitoring what was happening in my life.

If I didn't have this fucking ability in the first place then none of this would be happening. How did the Skrulls even find out about me?

Before I knew it, I could see my grandma's house in the distance. There was a small group of people standing in the front yard conversing. A couple of little kids were running around chasing each other. I recognized one of the adults as my mother as she was wearing the same yellow pencil dress as in my vision.

A small smile spread across my face, thinking I still had time.

A large flash of white light, followed by a loud boom stopped me in my tracks. I watched as the small group went flying and hit the ground hard. I heard a symphony of bones cracking on impact even at a great distance,  followed by the screams of pain from the ones who weren't instantly put out of their misery. Before anyone could get up to process what was happening a dark figure with glowing white eyes emerged from the smoke and with incredible speed silenced all who were alive with a quick succession of single punches. Each one was powerful enough to crack their skulls, making quick work. She ran back inside once she was finished, thankfully not spotting me right then and there. Or maybe she was just making sure she killed everybody first before she started pursuing me.

Bombshell.

I stood there like a dumbass contemplating if I should turn back around or run forward to try and see if I could help anybody. I got my answer when the smoke began to clear and I could see the familiar image of my mother dead on the ground. Her lifeless blue eyes stared right at me, deep cuts on her face and body, her figure covered in blood.

It was too late, I needed to run before I got caught.

I began running in the same direction I came. I had no idea where to go. I could hide in a house but they would surely check everyone eventually from top to bottom if they had to. My best bet is to probably just run fast and far. If I can get to the outskirts, at least I can use the trees as cover.

What if there are Skrulls there too? What do I do if I'm completely trapped? Seeing the tree line in the distance, I decided to take my chances and just keep running towards it. Silently praying to myself that I was in the clear, but of course, they go unanswered.

My eyes were suddenly overcome by a vision. Two Skrulls were hiding and watching me run towards them. Their natural skin color perfectly camouflages them in the foliage. As soon as I got into range they captured me and injected me with the same substance that creepy Skrull leader had.
