*Warning* Mild gore and violence.
Bombshell gestured me to follow her but I made sure to keep my distance. She noticed this but didn't seem to care as she continued her way to the door. Despite me locking it she broke the handle and the door swung open. Her attention switched to the body of Dr. Zromatz, her expression changed from neutral to anger as she let out a low deep hiss. I took a step back in case she was about to do something drastic.
The close sounds of gunshots caught us both off guard. Bombshell stuck her arm out to signal me to stay behind her. I inched my way closer to her as much as I was comfortable with. If a gunfight broke out on us then she would literally have to be my bullet shield.
"The hanger is not far," she spoke in a quiet tone. She slowly stepped out into the hallway and I followed her.
"We're going to hijack a plane?" I asked trying to match her tone.
"Better than running. The jets double as spacecraft. Staying anywhere here is dangerous, DRAKO has agents all over the place."
"I've always wanted to travel through space, I guess, but don't you think that's where everyone else is going to head too?"
"Folxex disappeared in front of me. Zromatz is dead. We only have to worry about DUO if they are still here."
"DUO?"
"Dramik and Z'cardan. Deviant Ultimate Operatives. They are DRAKO's top agents."
"Are they like you? I mean, do they have powers like you?"
She hesitated for a second before she spoke, "No."
Why did she hesitate like that?
"Well, we only have to worry about Z'cardan then. Dramik disappeared in front of me. Though I wish it was the other way around."
"Hmph."
"How come we have to worry about Z'cardan? Do the other soldiers not have the power to stop you? I imagine you are DRAKO's most important project so wouldn't they also have the same access to whatever your weaknesses are? How can you not beat up Z'cardan if he's just a normal Skrull?"
"Folxex trusts his higher-ups when it comes to...special projects like me. Though I'm sure he wasn't expecting this. As time passed DUO learned my fighting style and patterns. They keep me at a distance with acid as I am more dangerous close-up. I can't really do much long range if I don't have no energy stored."
"Fair enough, I guess."
"Talk later." She stopped and turned to me. I thought I had pissed her off but she didn't further say anything about my questions. "Follow close. If we encounter guards then play dead. They won't likely check bodies in this madness. If there is no other choice, I fight and you hide."
"We're not taking the vents?"
"That path will take too long."
Without waiting for a response she rushed her way down the hall, only to slow down long enough for me to catch up. I sighed and followed suit. From there I followed her actions as she said; whenever she moved I moved, whenever she stopped I stopped. Luckily, we haven't encountered any hostiles despite the almost constant sounds of gunfire all around us. We only came across bodies of the not-so-lucky ones. I couldn't help but make sure none of them were Ryrni. I also didn't see Col so hopefully he made it out. If we ran into Col I'm certain he wouldn't be as sympathetic to Bombshell as I'm currently being. Unfortunately, none of them appeared to be Z'cardan either.
"Past here is the elevator, it goes straight to the hanger."
"Won't they be alerted to the sound of the elevator moving?"
