I woke up to a delicious smell coming up from downstairs. I didn't even have the chance to get up before Ryan burst into my room with Jasmine close behind carrying a food tray packed with various breakfast foods.
"Damn. I know it's my birthday but you guys didn't have to go all out." I yawned.
"That's exactly why we had to go all out," Ryan explained.
I was about to throw my covers over so I could get out of bed but Jasmine set the heavy tray on top of my legs, pinning me to the bed. Both Skrull's stood there looking at me with smiles on their faces, it honestly looked like children begging for approval.
"Thanks, you two," I said as I grabbed my fork and stabbed into the stack of chocolate chip pancakes.
"This was Jasmine's idea," Ryan smirked.
"Getting payback I see?" I asked her.
"You could say that." She said shifting her head down to look at the floor.
"Payback? Payback for what?" Ryan asked confused.
"Don't worry about it. Get out and let me eat in peace before it gets cold."
"Fine." She turned and left my room mumbling something under her breath. Whatever it was made Jasmine start to blush pretty heavily.
"I'll just go too," Jasmine said as she turned on her heel.
"You don't have to. You're less annoying." I smiled as I shoved some hash browns in my mouth.
"I have some work to get done today and I have yet to get started but um... you're not doing anything later tonight are you?"
Is this a date!?
"Let me check." I glanced over to the day planner I had bought a while ago but never opened yet. "I think I can squeeze you in." Praying she couldn't see the big bright smile on my face.
"Is around 8 ok? I know it's pretty late-"
"Jasmine, whatever you have planned in that head of yours, it's fine by me."

Jasmine hadn't come out of her room all day. I didn't know what she had planned so I just dressed a step up from casual in case it involved going out in public. It was starting to get pretty late though, almost 9 pm. I was worried something had happened or she forgot. I sat there watching TV in the living room while Ryan played video games in her room upstairs. I debated several times just going up and knocking on Jasmine's door but figured she would come out when she was ready.
Maybe I got my hopes up for nothing.
Finally, I heard a door from upstairs open and Jasmine rushed down the stairs. Her hair was pulled back in a tight ponytail rather than a bun like she usually kept it. She adorned a nice sleek black dress shirt with matching pants. Finishing off her look with a pair of shiny black loafers. I couldn't help but stare at her. She looked so damn good.
"I'm so sorry. I lost track of time and then I was having trouble deciding what to wear and setting everything up."
"That's ok. What exactly did you have in mind tonight? Are we going out somewhere?"
"Kind of."
"What do you mean?"
"It's best if you just follow me."
