A little while later we all got ready to go to Donya's funeral service. After everything that has happened so far, it seemed that we were all split on what side we were on. Sam seemed to be on the page of trying to help Karli while Zemo is on the opposite end of the spectrum and is adamant about killing her. Bucky and I seemed to be somewhere in the middle. By no means did this mean that we wanted to kill her, but we had to consider all the lives she was putting at risk as we continued to let her roam free. There was no clear case of white or black, of course, everything had to fall within a grey area where everything had to be analyzed in order to make what we hope is the right decision.

I looked up at the hill of stairs we had to climb and sighed at who was walking down them. "Karli Morgenthau is way too dangerous for you guys to be pulling this kind of shit!" John yelled.

"Ah! How'd you find us now?" Bucky sassed.

"Great, just the two people I wanted to see," I whispered under my breath.

"Come on, you think two Avengers can walk around Latvia without drawing attention?" Lemar grunted.

Ouch.

"No more keeping us in the dark," John ordered. "You can start by telling us why you broke him out of prison."

"He did that himself, technically." Bucky corrected.

"There better be an unbelievable explanation-"

"Hey." Sam defused. "Take it easy before this gets weird."

"I know where Karli is," Zemo announced.

"Well, where?" John asked.

"We only know there is a memorial going on right now and that Karli is most likely going to be there," I explained.

"That means civilians. High risk of casualties." Lemar stated. Zemo and Bucky walked on ahead to try and avoid all this bullshit, unfortunately, both John and Lemar followed as Sam and I walked in unison.

"She won't hurt her own people," I said.

"We'll move in fast, take her by surprise," John instructed, completely ignoring what I said.

"Listen, Walker, I know you think you're all high and mighty with authority but me and Sam are going in and talking to her, alone," I spoke up.

"I'm not losing her again."

"Look, the person closest to her died. She's vulnerable." Sam spoke up. "Now is the best time to reason with her."

"What? No. Wait. No. Stop!" John shouted as he rushed in front of Zemo and Bucky, causing them to stop in their tracks. "I think we are way past reasoning with her. Unless you forgot she blew up a building with people still in it."

"Sam. Elara. You walk in there cold she could kill you." Lemar tried to reason.

"And if we go in hot and the op goes wrong, more people die." Sam pointed out.

"You'll let them do this?" John asked Bucky. "You're going to let your human partner and an alien walk into a room with a super soldier alone?"

"They've both dealt with worse. He's not my partner and she's more than just an alien. So, don't go around describing her like that like she hasn't done anything good."

"I used to counsel soldiers dealing with trauma, ok? And she has some experience as well. This is in both of our wheelhouses." Sam defended.

"I know. And I know those soldiers, which is why I know this is a bad idea." John hissed.
