Changkyun stood protectively in front of the crying Beta.
The Omega snarled at everyone who tried to get close.
Jackson sighed, stepping closer. He ignored the way Changkyun gnashed his teeth.
"Please, Changkyun. Jisung needs us, he's upset."
"He's upset because of you!" Changkyun stepped back, closer to the Beta.
He knelt down, running a hand over the younger boy's cheek.
Jisung rubbed his cheek against Changkyun's hand.
"I'm sorry." He mumbled.
Changkyun whined, pulling the smaller boy into his lap.
"Don't be sorry, Pup. It's not your fault."
He tucked Jisung's head into the crook of his neck so the Beta could breath in his scent.
"Seungcheol and I have got this handled, you all get back to what you were doing." Hyunwoo said to the rest of the hovering Pack.
Minho was the only one to stay. He didn't want to leave the Beta.
He whined.
"It's going to be okay, Minho. It'll be fine. Go find Kihyun for hugs." Seungcheol gave him a reasurring smile.
Minho hesitantly left the room with a sigh, going to find the Omega who will hopefully get him scent-drunk.
Seungcheol looked back to the Omega and Beta.
"Can you tell us what happened, Changkyun?" Hyunwoo asked.
Changkyun growled.
"None of you noticed or even cared." He snarled.
"Notice what?" Seungcheol asked.
Changkyun buried his nose into Jisung's hair, inhaling the younger boy's scent.
"He got scared when Jackson and Mingyu started to yell. Pup hid." He mumbled.
The two Alphas frowned.
"We know what you're thinking, and we never hurt him. None of us would ever do that." Hyunwoo said, keeping a level head, even with such allogations.
Seungcheol blinked back his tears.
"Jisung's cousin took him away from his family and brought him here to us, Changkyun. Just like Jeongin's family... They weren't nice people."
"He's always been affraid of loud noises and arguing. We sometimes forget that."
Changkyun frowned.
"You won't hurt him?" He asked quietly. So quiet, the Alphas almost missed it.
"Never. You have our word." Hyunwoo promised.
"Can I just...can I hold him a while longer?" He asked.
The two Alphas smiled and nodded.
"Of course you can, Pup."
And they waited for Changkyun to calm down, and for him to stop realising those maternal pheromones.
The pheromones that Changkyun didn't even know he was realising.
