Sickness At Night

Kai's chest felt sore as his body quaked with each cough, he wiped the gross mucus on the blanket.

Taehyun groaned tiredly from beside him.
"You alright?"

Kai nodded in the dark.
"Yeah, Hyung...just a cough."

Taehyun hummed, rubbing the young Omega's back.
"You feel hot. And you're all sweaty." Taehyun sat up, turning on the lamp as he rubbed his eyes.

Kai rubbed his face into his pillow.

Soobin groaned from the other side of the room.
"What's going on?"

"Kai is burning up."

"I'll go wake up Changkyun." Beomgyu said grogily, as he flopped out of bed.

Yeonjun walked over to Kai, feeling his forehead. He frowned.

Beomgyu came back with a frantic looking Changkyun.
"I'll carry him to the Medicine Room. Beomgyu, can you go wake Jihoon up, please. Three rooms down on the right."

Beomgyu nodded, leaving the room to go wake up the Beta. 

Changkyun picked up Kai, carrying him to the Medicine Room. Yeonjun, Taehyun and Soobin followed.

Kai coughed in his hand, starting to wipe the mucus on his sleep shirt.

Changkyun turned Kai's hand up to inspect the mucus.

Green mucus with small amounts of blood.

"What-what is that?" Yeonjun asked, growing slightly pale.

Changkyun frowned.
"I'm not too sure."

Jihoon entered the room with a yawn, Beomgyu was close by.

"Not feeling well, Pup?" Jihoon asked.

"I'm fine." Kai said tiredly, barely able to keep his eyes open.

"Jihoon..." Changkyun said, showing the Beta Kai's hand covered in Mucus.

Jihoon frowned.
"I think it might be pneumonia. Taehyun, go wake Jooheon and Jinyoung up please. We need to go a chest x-ray."

Jihoon moved to put the stethoscope on Kai's chest.

His eyebrows pinched with worry.
He swore under his breath.

The two Betas walked into the room.

"Alright, everyone out. We need to do a an x-ray, and a few tests."

The Pups all whined, but moved to leave the room anyway.

Changkyun walked the four back to their shared room.

"Will Kai be okay?" Soobin asked.

Changkyun smiled reassuringly.
"I don't know, Pup. But I'm sure he will be."

The four Pups nodded.

Changkyun studied their saddened expressions.
"Would you all like to come to my bed?"

"Will we all fit?" Beomgyu asked.

Changkyun nodded.
"It's the biggest bed in the house." He smiled.
"Hyunwoo got sick of sulking Pups that couldn't all fit into it at night."

The four Pups chuckled, but didn't answer.

"Okay, well Jungkook and Chan are in my bed if you would like to join too...you know where it is."

Changkyun smiled as he left.

"Everything alright, Hyung?" Jungkook asked when Changkyun climbed back into bed.

He nodded.
"Can you push Chan over to the wall. I  suspect more Pups will be joining." He laughed.

Only a few moments later, the door creaked open as foot steps tiptoed into the room.

Changkyun smiled as he felt the bed dip, feeling as each Pup climbed into the bed.

"Mum's intuition." Jungkook whispered, giggling.

Changkyun smiled.
He rolled over, pulling the closest Pup to his chest.

It was Taehyun. Changkyun could tell by the scent.

"Go to sleep, my Pups. We'll see Kai in a few hours."

Changkyun waited until he heard the young Pups fall completely asleep before he closed his own eyes.
