taeya knocked on the door to the living room and waited for a reply.
"come in?"
taeya smiled and opened the door, walking in with jisung and hyeon.
jisung took a breath when he saw doyun sitting on the couch next to an older looking man with minho and minjoon sitting on the couch opposite them. minho smiled as the three walked in, looking up towards jisung.
"ah, you're back."
jisung nodded and came to sit next to minho where he was pointing. minho took his hands and looked at his nails, smiling a little.
"i like these."
jisung smiled at him, getting distracted with minho until doyun's father cleared his throat, making minho look up.
"oh right, introductions... jisung, this is mr. park and his son doyun but you've seen him before, mr. park this is han jisung, he... works for me, this is lee hyeon, he works with minjoon and this is taeya, she's a friend from childhood."
the man nodded but was mainly focused on jisung.
"what exactly does jisung do for you? he wasn't in today's meeting."
minho tried to think of something, unable to tell them what jisung really did for him as a job.
"well... he helps me here and there when i need it, but he's here mainly because we're dating."
jisung subtly felt his heart explode, getting butterflies and unable to help but get a smile as his cheeks turned pink. minho noticed and smiled a little too, taking jisung's hand and holding it.
"i see."
minho began talking to them again while the others sat quietly and just listened, hyeon was trying not to be pouty as he sat by minjoon's side, wanting to be on his lap, his lap was so comfortabl and he felt small and safe there but he stayed quiet, holding onto minjoon's arm.
jisung glanced up after a few seconds, locking eyes with doyun, he wasn't sure why the man was staring at him, maybe it was that he just got his nails done, maybe it's because minho said they were dating, maybe it's because he was wearing shorts and thigh highs. either way, doyun wasn't doing well at making things not awkward between them by staring at him.
jisung broke eye contact first, looking over at minjoon as he contributed to the conversation.
--
jisung was relieved when they were called in for the meal the staff had prepared, he stuck close to minho, not speaking unless he was spoken to.
thy sat down at the table with minho at the end, minjoon on his right and jisung on his left, then doyun's father next to minjoon and unfortunately, doyun next to jisung with hyeon and taeya at the other end.
they began to eat and jisung focused on himself, not the man next to him as he enjoyed his meal.
his head was telling him to ignore doyun but the unsettling feeling in his stomach was getting intense, he didn't trust doyun, even if he had promised to keep it between them, he had no reason to put his trust in him.
he knew if minho found out himself it would be a million times worse so he had to be honest with him. he knew minho would be upset about it, probably angry too that jisung lied, but if he had learned anything recently it was that being honest and communicating with minho was the best way to handle things. so he resolved to tell minho when they were alone.
when they finished their meal, doyun's father asked minho to have a quick talk with him and minjoon and taeya stood up to take hyeon to help the staff clean up, leaving jisung and doyun in the dining room.
jisung bit at his lip, starting to stand up.
"jisung?"
he looked at doyun, hiding his nerves.
"i need to ask you something."
"what?"
jisung watched as doyun stood up too, standing close to him.
"when are you next working at the club?"
"i don't know if i will be."
"if you are, let me know... i want another dance."
"i can't do that, i'm with minho-"
"that didn't stop you before."
"things are different now."
doyun came a little closer.
"come on, i said i wouldn't tell him right? he wouldn't know."
"but i would, and i'd feel too guilty."
"it's just a dance, you said it yourself, it's all professional, nothing personal."
doyun moved his hand to jisung's waist to pull him closer.
"well this seems pretty personal." jisung mumbled.
as he spoke he moved his hands to doyun's arms to push him off.
"don't be like that beautiful, i'm doing a lot for your boyfriend's company, you can-"
the door opened and taeya walked in, stopping at the sight of jisung and doyun. jisung pushed him off quickly.
"t-taeya i-"
"jisung. go." she mumbled quickly.
"it's not what it looks like i swear!"
"jisung! leave!"
jisung lowered his head, walking towards the door. he didn't want taeya to be angry at him. doyun started to walk towards the door too.
"ah. stay there." she snapped.
doyun looked up, seeming surprised that taeya was giving him an order. he stopped walking and looked at her.
taeya closed the door after jisung left, walking towards doyun who now looked a little nervous.
"what do you want with jisung?"
"i don't think that's any of your business."
taeya gave him a bittersweet fake smile.
"i heard everything so there's no point in hiding it. regardless of what you're doing for minho, if he finds out you're putting your dirty hands on jisung in his own house you and your father will be gone faster than you can imagine."
"are you threatening me?"
"like you were about to use your contribution to the company to make jisung think he owes you something?"
"i-"
"honestly, have some self respect. it's scumbag men like you that make me lose my faith in humanity."
doyun looked at her, completely shocked.
"don't play dumb, you're not all that you think you are, keep your eyes and hands off jisung and hyeon. that's right, i saw you eyeing him up too. we wouldn't want both minjoon and minho seeing you as a threat now would we?"
"fine... i'll back off."
"good, i knew you weren't as stupid as you look."
tayea backed off and walked out of the dining room, leaving doyun in there alone.
