Chapter 9

Eren groaned and stretched when he finally woke up, throwing his arm over to the side he recognized it hit nothing but crumbled up sheets and the mattress. It took him all of about five seconds to remember falling asleep with someone beside him, and a moment of panic sunk in as he realized that person was no longer there. "Shit... after all that?" He groggily spoke to no one in particular. Maybe she was up already? Gone to the restroom? Both things that would make sense, but he supposed it was more likely she was gone. Probably some sick cosmic twist of karma or something. Yeah, this did suck... most likely why he received so many complaints. He grabbed his phone off of the nightstand beside him. It was an effort originally meant to check the time, but he completely forgot to do that when he saw the notification.

Hey, just wanted to let you know I headed home for a shower and a change of clothes before class. I would've waken you, but you were so cute sleeping so well 😉 – (Y/N)

Eren immediately smiled at the sentiment. An unusual sense of relief washing through his mind at the text.

you had me freaking out I was worried you were just using me 🥺 lol -Eren

Aww, I'm sorry! I would never! 😘 – (Y/N)

Eren looked down at his phone for a solid minute before deciding if he should send the next message.Sure, they had a brief conversation like this. Still, it felt a little weird putting himself kind of out there. Then again, he recalled how terrible he felt momentarily when he thought of her being gone. His mother always said he should be more upfront with his emotions if he ever wanted to have a serious relationship... he hit send quickly, before he had a chance to back down.

I know. It's part of why I like you so much 😜 is it weird to say I miss you?

Jeez I've only been awake like 5 minutes -Eren

You're cute. I'll see you tomorrow... or you know what time I get out of class. You wanna come to my place? – (Y/N)

Duh I wanna come over 🙄

Wait... I get to go to your place this time? Am I moving up in this relationship?? 😬 -Eren

Is THE Eren Yeager was asking to be my boyfriend... 😳 Wait don't answer that, save it for later class is starting and I'm not gonna be able to respond. See you later! – (Y/N)

Eren stretched one more, a loud exhale ripping through him as his muscles relaxed and he pulled himself from his bed. He thought about the words on his screen as he busied himself going through the morning routine. Armin was sitting at the counter when he finally emerged from his bedroom, "Hey, Armin, who would you say my last girlfriend was?"

"Umm Rebecca- Becky? The girl from 12th grade English?" Armin knew he probably had more than he 'claimed', just never really got around to labeling it, but if he had the opportunity to get Eren second guessing then he had to take it, "I have to say this is a weird conversation, post hook-up. I mean at least for you?"

"I don't think we hooked up though."

"Oh umm... I'm sorry I guess, I just assumed since your entire wardrobe is in the living room floor." Armin chuckled.

"That's not what I meant," Eren laughed, taking the hint to pick up the articles of clothing, "She asked me if I was asking if I was her boyfriend, and I don't know. I'm probably looking too much into this."

"No, it makes sense. You should think about it, I mean do you want to be her boyfriend? That's not really your scene."

"I don't think I'm against it, but it's kinda soon, right? Am I crazy?"
