Another idea I got while sitting around lol

Kaoru's POV

"Get in" Joe said, a goofy grin plastered on his face. I rolled my eyes at him, getting in the passenger seat. Kojiro had woken me at 6am, saying we were going to the beach, to which I threw pillows at him and told him to leave me alone. Yeah that didn't work, and I was drugged out of bed by the feet. And here we are, an hour later, fully packed and in the car. "Are the children coming?" I asked, pulling out a book. "Shadow is driving them" "Mmk"

We drove into town, stopping at a cafe that was surprisingly open at this time. We pulled into the parking lot, and stepped out of the car. It was too early in the morning for getting dressed as normal, so instead I was in a pair of Joe's shorts that went a bit past my knees, and a t-shirt that he had gotten me, something I'd never normally wear.

I was snapped out of my thoughts by getting flicked in the forehead. "Ow, what was that for?" I muttered, rubbing the spot. "You were ignoring me" He answered, pouting like a child. I leaned in, looking like I was gonna kiss him, and then punched him in the arm. "Oops, my arm slipped," I said, shrugging and walking into the shop. "You're gonna pay for that" He whispered.

We went in and ordered our food, getting back in the car and eating before beginning to drive again. It took a few hours, but eventually we had arrived at this new beach we'd never been to before. We pulled into a parking spot, stepping out and stretching. "I've got to use the bathroom" I said, looking around for one. "Hold on babe, I gotta get changed so I'll go too." I nodded, going to the backseat and grabbing our bag with swimsuits.

Joe texted Shadow, saying that we were there, just in the bathrooms. Kojiro grabbed my hand, and we went on finding them. Eventually we found them and went inside, seeing that it wasn't  busy. "This is why I wanted to be here by noon," He said, smirking. "Drop it" I said, glaring at him. I threw the bag of stuff at him, only taking my swim trunks from it. "Ow. What is your problem?" He said, a bit louder than he had intended. "Don't yell at me Kojiro." I said, locking myself in a stall.

After we had both changed, without saying anything we both went back to the car. It didn't feel right not wearing a kimono, so I threw it on over top of the swim trunks. When we got to the car, I went to help Joe, but got ignored. I rolled my eyes at him, going and sitting in the car by myself. I laid my head in my hands, and let out a small sob. 'Why am I crying?' I thought, wiping my face. I sat in the car, alone, playing with my fingers. All of the sudden the door opened, "Joe-" "Joe says to tell you to join us" "Oh." I muttered.

I got out of the car, walking towards the rest of the group with Miya. I made eye contact with Joe, which he quickly looked away, which hurt. 'Why's he in a bad mood?' I thought, sitting down under the umbrella. "What should we do first Langa?" Reki asked, pulling Langa to also sit under the umbrella. "I wanna swim" He answered, taking off his top and getting up once again. Reki joined him standing up, "I'll race ya" He yelled, running into the water. I laughed a little, remembering when Kojiro and I were like that.

Joe's POV

I smiled at the two boys racing to the water and jumping in. I looked over to Kaoru to see if maybe he'd wanna go in too, even though I knew he wouldn't. He's mad at me for dragging him here when all I was trying to do was have a little fun with him. I looked down at him, seeing a smile on his face. "Come on," Miya said, grabbing Shadow's wrist and dragging him to the water.

I sat down next to Kaoru, not saying anything. "I'm sorry Kaoru" I whispered. He turned, looking at me with a confused face. "Why? I've been the one being horrible to you all day." He said, looking down at the ground. "Wanna make it up to me?" I said, smirking. "Hmm?" I grabbed him by the waist, throwing him over my shoulder, and carrying him out to the water. Kaoru was a giggling mess, hitting and kicking around, trying to get out of my grasp. I threw him into the water, jumping in after him.

Kaoru swam up, gasping for air while trying to get his hair out of his face. The water was really cold and was causing poor Cherry to freak out, so I swam over and grabbed him by the waist, which he automatically put his hands on my chest to balance himself. "Dumbass. I wanted to tie my hair up. And my kimono is wet now" He said, glaring at me. I laughed at him, untying the sash of his kimono. "You got a hair elastic?" I asked. "In the bag" He answered, as I got out and walked back to the set up. I placed his thing down, and grabbed an elastic, then headed back to the water.

"Here" I said, walking up to Kaoru and pulling his hair back." "Thank you babe." he muttered, turning around and pushing me down into the water. I grabbed onto his wrist, pulling him with me. We both started laughing and splashing each other. Miya snuck up behind us and dumped a bucket of water on us. Kaoru got up, and chased him through the water. We goofed around for a few hours like this until we all got too tired. It was around 4 at this point and we were all getting tired.

"Should we head home guys?" I asked. "yes please" all three kids said, fanning themselves with their hands. We all cleaned up and made plans to meet at my restaurant for dinner. Kaoru and I got into the car and began driving. "Kojiro" "Yes hun?" "I'm tired" "Take a nap" He nodded, and laid down against the window. His forehead seemed sticky with sweat so I turned on the ac. We continued driving until we got to the restaurant. "Babe we're here" I said, rubbing his shoulder. He got up, making his way to a booth inside the restaurant and slumping down in the seat. A couple minutes later the rest arrived.

Cherry's POV

I was sitting at the table, listening to everyone talk to each other, and the occasional yelling from Joe in the kitchen. "Kojiro," I yelled. "What Kaoru?" "Can you bring me water please" A couple of seconds later he brought out a glass of water, along with drinks for the others. "Be right back," He said, returning with plates of food. Everyone dug in, finishing their food quickly, but I just picked at mine. I wasn't really hungry, even though I hadn't eaten since lunch. I picked at it, eating a bite here and there.

An hour later, everyone was getting ready to leave. Shadow and the three boys said their goodbyes, running out the door yelling and laughing. I groaned, laying my head down on the table. "I'm gonna clean up quickly, ok babe?" "Be quick" I said, not moving my head. Joe came out 10 minutes later, rubbing my back. "Let's go home hun." He said, picking me up. I gave in, wrapping my arms around his neck and laying against him. "You're really hot" "Stop flirting thirsty gorilla." "No like physically. You're burning up" He said, continuing to the car.

He brought me over to my door, setting me down and going over to his own side. I got in, leaning my head against the cold window after buckling up (Wear your seat belts kids). Before I knew it, we were pulling into the driveway, and Kojiro was pulling me out of the car. "Come on, let's go check your temperature." We got into the house, and I went to the bedroom, taking off my kimono so that there was touching my skin that felt like it was on fire(He has underwear on).

Kojiro came into the room with a wet cloth and a thermometer. He put the thing in my ear, pressing a button until it beeped. "101" He muttered, picking me up and laying me down properly. He put the rag on my face and walked out of the room. He came back with a couple ice packs, placing one inside my pillowcase, and the other wrapped in a towel on my chest. "Does your head hurt?" He asked. I slowly nodded yes. He pulled out a bottle of Tylenol and grabbed a glass of water, handing me both. "Sounds like you got heatstroke," He said. "Yay"

Kojiro sat down on the bed beside me, reaching out to hold me, but as soon as he touched me I hissed out in pain. "What's wrong?" He asked, looking at me with a concerned face. "It stings" I mumbled into the cloth on my face. "Sit up" He said, the cloth falling from my face as I got up, revealing the redness of my face. He examined my back, "You got a major sunburn babe. I thought you put on sunscreen?" "I must've forgotten,"I said, sighing. He went into the bathroom and came back with aloe gel, rubbing it gently onto my back.

"Thank you Kojiro. I'm sorry for being bratty earlier" I said, laying down beside him. He carefully wrapped his arms around my waist after turning on the fan. "I didn't marry a non-bratty Kaoru. I wouldn't want you any other way" He said slyly. I laughed, grabbing onto the hand around my waist. I started to give into the sleepiness I was feeling, noticing the slowing of my breathing as I fell more and more asleep. Neither of us said anything as we laid there, in a comforting silence.
