Kaoru's POV

It was a couple weeks before Christmas and I was still figuring out a few presents to get for people. Reki and Langa were easy, seeing as their teenage boys who are madly obsessed with skateboarding. So I got them each some new vans, a hoodie, and backpacks since theirs were a bit beat up from throwing them around. For Miya I got him a new headset, a Nintendo switch game(Y'all can comment which one you think he'd get him lol), and a hoodie. Shadow was easy, I bought him some eye liner, boots he had pointed out, and a gift card to a restaurant I figured he could take Oka to. All that was left was Kojiro, and I had no clue what to get him.

I had fallen onto my bed, and was now facing the ceiling. "Carla. Has Joe ever mentioned what he wants for Christmas?" I asked. "I'm analyzing the texts now" I waited a couple minutes, "No master, he's never mentioned it." "Is there anything he's ever joked about wanting that would make a decent gift?" "One moment" I sat in silence a few moments more, pondering about the gift. "The only thing Mr Kojiro has ever joked about was marrying sir." "What?" I asked, sitting up in a flash. "It appears the right Christmas gift would be an engagement ring master." I stood completely still, holding my breath. "Are you ok Master? Do I need to call for emergency services?" Carla asked. "N-no. It's fine" I said, pushing my glasses up and sitting back down on the edge of the bed.

I knew Kojiro talked a lot about getting married, but I wasn't sure I'd be the one proposing. Then again, it wasn't a bad idea. He had asked me out in high school, asked for the first date, asked me when we did it the first time, he had always asked for everything. "Carla. Where is the best place to get a ring?"

I made my way through the crowded mall, passing by people silently so I could get to the ring shop. I walked through the big doors to the shop, noting there were very few people inside, but then again it's like the most expensive store in the mall. "Welcome." A lady said as I walked in. I nodded and headed over to the wedding ring section. "Your lady must be very special for you to come shop here" She said, coming up behind me. "I suppose you could say that" I said, smirking to myself. I looked over them for a while until one in particular caught my eye. "I'd like that one" Knowing she was still standing behind me. "Are you sure sir? That ones not exactly feminine...." She said, I turned to her, "Good thing then, my boyfriend isn't feminine." She blushed and started apologizing.

"It's ok, but I'd really like to pay and get out of here" I said, sighing. She went up to the front counter and talked to a man for a moment, who came over and took the ring out of the case. Once we had gotten everything settled, I paid and left with the ring in my pocket. I sighed once I sat down in the car and took the box out. I stared at it for a minute, knowing it was absolutely perfect for him. I hid the box back into my pocket and started the car, realizing it was kind of cold. I drove home and got back to my house, almost expecting him to be there, but he hadn't showed up yet. I looked at my watch and saw that there was 20 minutes until he would be coming over, so I darted into the house. I hid the box in the very back of my closet, cleaned up my room, then moved onto the rest of my house.

"Kaoru?" I heard him call from the front door. "Coming" I yelled, running down the stairs. I ran and jumped into his arms, kissing his cheek. "Wow, you're in a good mood." He said, kissing me. I smiled against his lips and continued to kiss him. "K-Kaoru, calm down," Kojiro said as I tried to deepen the kiss. "S-sorry I muttered, wiping my chin. "We can do that later, for now let's eat something, and then we can go up to our room and watch a movie" He said, wrapping his arms around my waist and throwing me over his shoulder.
