Kaoru's POV

"Kaoru, they'll be here any minute" Kojiro whisper-yelled, I ran out of the bathroom and sat down on the couch, "Calm down, they're just come to look at the house and see if it's fit for Miya to live here" Kojiro said, kneeling down in front of me. "I know, I'm just scared. He really doesn't want to go back there" "I know, and we won't let him" Just then, the doorbell went off. "Deep breath babe" He said, getting up off the floor. He held out a hand and I used it to help myself up, then we walked over to the door. "Hi, are you the Sakurayashiki's?" She asked, smiling brightly at us. "Yes, that's us" I answered in a professional manner. "Come in," Kojiro said, stepping out of her way.

"So, we have some things to go over" She said after we had sat around the dining table. "First off, I need to do a check of the house(Pls I have no idea how this works-) Then I need to talk to Miya, and finally, if everything is ok I'll need you too to fill out Foster papers. I took a deep breath, "What about adoption papers?" The lady and Kojiro looked at me, "Well of course that's an option, but usually people don't feel that comfortable adopting a kid they just met." "Well actually, we've been training Miya in skateboarding for almost a year, so we know that we want to adopt him if possible." "I can most definitely put in a request for the papers for you tonight, but only if that's what he wants." She said, smiling. We both nodded, "May I take a look around? I'll also need you to accompany me around and show me the rooms" "Yes of course" I said, standing up.

"This is a beautiful house you guys have here" She said, looking at our kitchen in more depth. "Yeah, we saved since we were teenagers." Kojiro said, "You're been together that long?" She asked, I smiled and nodded, "That's adorable." After the downstairs tour, we brought her upstairs. "So we have our bedroom, two guest bedrooms, one bathroom besides our master one, the laundry room, and an open space we just use for when we have people over." I said, pointing to each of the rooms. "So there would be a dedicated room for Miya?" "Of course, There's also a fully finished basement with another bedroom, bathroom, storage room, and lounge room." She wrote something down no her clipboard. "Cherry?" I turned around to see Miya leaning against the doorway of our bedroom. "Hey hun" I said. "Hello Miya, may I talk to you for a little bit?" The lady asked. Miya nodded and Kojiro walked over and helped him over to the couch. "Could you too please go back downstairs, this conversation is supposed to be private" She said, smiling. We both nodded and went downstairs.

Miya's POV

She began asking a lot of simple questions until, "Miya, would you like to go back home?" I looked at her, surprised and scared, "No" I said, "Why would that be?" I couldn't hide my emotions anymore. I thought of all the nice things Cherry and Joe had done for me vs what they did for me, "I don't want to be hurt anymore" I whispered. "What do you mean by hurt?" "Yelled at for wanting to play with a friend. Yelled at that I'm not going to be a good skater unless I stop eating. Yelled at that I'm an ungrateful brat and the least I could do was be a skater so they could get some extra money." I said, starting to cry. "Hey, hey, it's alright, I swear I'm almost done." She said, half smiling. "Is this a place you're comfortable living in?" I looked at her. "This is the only place I want to be."

Cherry's POV

I heard the stairs creak and looked over to see the lady walking downstairs. "So good news" She said, walking over to us, so we both stood up. "I think it's safe to say that Miya will be placed here" I smiled, looking at Kojiro, "I do need you to do a couple things asap tho" "Yes?" I asked, "I need you to get a bedroom set up for him, and then once his parent's custody is taken away all his personal belongings will be brought over, or you can take him there to get them." "Sounds great, we'll go out right after this" Kojiro said. She smiled, "You two are obviously something special to him for him to trust you so much."
