Kaoru's POV

It was a little past 10pm, and the last beef of the night had ended. "Hey" Kojiro said, walking up to me. "Hello" I said, cleaning off Carla. Joe sat down beside me and leaned against my shoulder. "Something is off with the boys." He said, pulling out his phone. "I noticed it too," I answered, putting down the cloth. "It's gotta be something pretty bad. They haven't spoken the whole night." He said, looking at me. I sighed, "You wanna help, don't you?" He nodded, so I stood up and held out a hand. "You find Langa, I'll find Reki. Just try to find out what's wrong" He nodded and we walked over to the rest of the group(aka shadow, Miya and the two boys, who were spread apart from the rest.) I walked over to Reki, "Hey kid" I said. He looked at me and then smiled, "Hey what's up?" I sighed and sat down next to him. We sat in silence for a few minutes, "You noticed, didn't you" "Yeah. It's hard not to when usually you're glued at the hip" Reki laid his head on his knees. "Wanna talk about it?" I asked, putting my hand on his shoulder.

"It's really nothing. I'm just mad at Langa." He muttered, not lifting his head. "What happened?" He moved his head up and looked at me, then let his head hang. I felt a pang in my heart, and my instincts to protect the child kicked in. I gently grabbed him and pulled his head against my shoulder. "I saw him with a girl," He whispered.

Joe's POV

"Hey kiddo" I called, walking up to Langa, who was sitting by himself, quite a ways away from the others. Langa didn't look up, and instead kicked a rock. I sighed and sat down next to him. "What's up?" I asked gently, putting my hand on his shoulder. Langa looked at me, tears running down his face. "Reki won't talk to me" He sobbed, hiding his face in his hands. I pulled him into a hug, and let him cry until he was ready to talk. "I-I don't even know w-what I d-d-did" He said into my shoulder. I rubbed his back gently, "Have you tried talking to him?" I asked. "Y-yes. B-but he wouldn't s-say anything t-to me" "Do you want me to go with you to find him?" He looked up and wiped his face on his sleeve and nodded yes.

Cherry's POV

"What do you mean?" I asked, confused. "At lunch. I went to grab food from the vending machine, and when I came back there was a girl with him." "Did you ask what was going on?" He shook his head no. "I heard her say something about a date, and he put a hand on her shoulder, so I ran." "And you haven't talked to him since..." He shook his head again. "I can't. I'm too embarrassed....and angry." I sighed, "Reki dear, you should find out what was going on before you upset yourself more." I heard Reki sniffle, and pulled him closer to me. "What if he's tired of me?" "Reki don't say that." "Let's face it, Cherry. I'm not someone people willingly want to be around" "Hun-" "I'm loud, and obnoxious, and everyone around me always gets hurt." "I felt a tear escape my eye, knowing this speech all too well. "I'm so stupid to think someone like him would wanna date someone like me. He's so talented, and he shouldn't be tied down because of someone like me, who does nothing but slow him down." "Reki, please stop" I pleaded, noticing that he was starting to shake.

"I don't think that about you" Someone whispered from beside us. I turned my head to see Kojiro standing with Langa in front of him, his face red and puffy. "Just great. Not only am I causing problems, but I'm making you cry." Reki said, burying his face in his hands. Langa ran over to him and pulled him into a hug, "Reki, What did I do?" Langa asked, holding the red head as he sobbed into his chest. Kojiro came over to me and sat down, taking the spot Reki had occupied moments ago. "We'll stay until they solve this." Kojiro whispered in my ear. I nodded and directed my attention back to the two boys. "Reki, Reki my love. Please calm down" Langa pleaded, running his fingers through Reki's hair. "L-langa" "Yes?" "Please don't leave me" Reki pulled back his head to reveal bloodshot eyes, and his face the same shade as his hair. Langa gently kissed him. "I would never leave you Reki" This caused Reki to burst out crying again. "B-b-but the g-g-g-g-irl." He sobbed. "The one at lunch? She was asking me on a date, but I explained to her that I'm seeing someone that I'm madly in love with." I smiled, and Kojiro grabbed my hand.

"Reki, let's get you home" Langa said, pulling Reki up with him. "We'll walk with you, to make sure you get home alright" Kojiro said, standing up. I stood up too and walked over to the boys. "Ready to go?" Langa nodded and picked up both their boards. Reki leaned against Langa as we started on the way home. A little bit later, we arrived at Reki's front door, "You boys have a good night, ok?" Kojiro said, ruffling Reki's hair. "Thank you," Langa said, bowing slightly. I smiled, and pulled him into a hug. "If you need anything, call us," I said, before the boys walked into Reki's house.

"Kaoru" Joe called from our bedroom, as I washed my face. "One sec" I answered, washing off my face and drying it. "What's wrong hun?" I asked, taking off my robe as I walked into the bedroom. I looked over to see Kojiro laying against a pillow, and got into the bed next to him. "Hey, I'm here" Kojiro sighed and wrapped his arms around my waist, burying his face in my chest. "Was I the only one getting the flashbacks?" He mumbled, making me shiver from his breath on my bare chest. "I did too Ko" I said, kissing his head. "Why are they so similar to us?" He asked, chuckling. "I have no clue" I answered, smiling. Kojiro sat back up and patted his chest. I smiled again, and climbed into his lap. "Tired?" He asked, as I shut my eyes. I hummed, and got comfy. "I love you" " I love you too" I mumbled, and I felt him run his fingers through my hair.
