Hi guysssss!!!! I'm so sorry I haven't been updating everyday like I usually do, I don't know why but I just haven't had the motivation, buuuuuuuut I do now so here we are.

I'm working on writing any of the old requests I had gotten, and I promise I will do all of them! But I would really like some new ones too!!

Anyways, this story takes place when the lovers were in high school, and was requested by ladyredriot

"You're pathetic. I can't believe you would think I actually wanted to be anywhere near you. You're worthless Kaoru. Completely worthless."

Kaoru's POV

I gasped, sitting up in my bed extremely quickly while gripping onto my chest. My heart felt like it was going a million miles an hour, but also felt like it was broken in so many pieces. I started to shake violently, unable to control my breathing anymore.

I was scared. Scared of basically anything you could think of. I felt worthless, just like he told me. There's no one around to help me. I began to feel tears roll down my face and hit my hands. I tried to slow down my breathing, as it was now physically hurting me, but it didn't work. 'God what do I do?' I thought, but then it dawned on me.

I managed to pick up my phone, although I couldn't see the screen well from a mix of tears and my hands shaking. I managed to pull up Kojiro's contact, clicking the call button.

Kojiro's POV

I jumped up, the sound of Kaoru's ringtone blasting in my ear. "Hello?" I said, whispering so I wouldn't wake my family. I didn't hear anything on the other line. "Kaoru come on. It's 2:30 in the morning and I'm not in the mood for jokes." "K-k-k-kojiro" I heard him whisper. "Are you ok?? What happened?" I asked, getting up from my bed. "I-i I n-n-need yo-u" "I'm coming, don't worry" I said in a soft tone. I put it on speaker phone before setting it down and picking up a hoodie. "Kaoru?" "Uh huh?" He said, sobbing. "Unlock the window ok? and then get back in your bed." I heard shuffling and the sound of a window being opened.

I was walking in the streets, holding the phone up to my ear while listening to the quiet sobs coming from my best friend. Every few seconds I whispered "Shh it's ok" or "I'm here Kaoru". As I continued to walk for another two minutes, I began to be able to see his house. I began to jog, wanting to get to him as fast as possible.

I knew that all of this had to do with Adam. I knew it was what he said that made him have these nightmares. Kaoru had developed a small crush on him, saying "Yeah he's amazing, but there's someone else that I like more." And yeah, it hurt to know that he liked not one, but two guys, and knowing that neither of them were me, but at the end of the day he's my best friend, and even though I may be in love with him, I'm not going to let that get in the way of helping his in any way possible.

"Kaoru?" I whispered, being at the window now. I heard a sniffle, and the bed shift. "No, no, it's ok. Stay in your bed, I got this." I said, climbing up and into the window frame. I jumped down quietly, taking my shoes off, along with my hoodie. I looked over to the bed to see a heartbreaking sight.

Kaoru was looking at me. He had his lamp on beside his bed, making it easy to see him. His eyes were red, along with the rest of his face. There were tear stains, along with fresh tears on his face as well. I could tell he was sweating because his hair was sticking to the sides of his face, something that could not be comfortable. I walked over to him as fast as I could, quickly pulling him into my arms. "Shh, it's ok now, I'm here" he began sobbing heavily into my chest. I gently rubbed circles into his back, trying to make him more comfortable. "Kaoru, you gotta breathe ok? Come on, breathe with me" I said, pulling him away just enough so he'd be able to.

I continued to help him slow down his breathing until it was back to normal. "Thank you for doing this" He said, leaning against the wall. I smiled, "There's nothing to thank me for. I'll always be by your side." I said, leaning beside him, against the wall. "Kojiro" He whispered, his eyes closed but he was facing me. "Mhm?" "I'm cold" I chuckled a bit before getting up to grab him a dry blanket as the other one was slightly damp in patches over it. That's when I spotted my hoodie. "Hey" I said softly, poking him in the arm. his eyes fluttered open, but stayed half shut from being tired. "Hey don't fall back asleep" I got out before his eyes fell closed again. "Kaoruuu" He groaned before rolling and opening his eyes fully. "Here, put this on" I said, holding out the hoodie. I felt my face heat up so I looked away which earned teasing look from the pink haired boy.

He put it on, before grabbing my arm and pulling me down with him. I landed up on top of him, my head resting on his chest. I internally started to panic, my cheeks heating up, as I tried to get up but with no luck. "I wanna cuddle. So either I hold you or you hold me." He said, holding me down. "I, uh- At least let me hold you then" I managed to get out. With that, he let me go so I sat up, and sat down beside him. He rolled over to face me and pat the spot next to him......really close to him. I didn't want to upset him, especially after what Adam told him, so I laid down, and he instantly dove into my chest. He wrapped his arms around my waist, while his head sat right under my chin.

"Thank you Ko" He whispered, starting to doze off. "Mhm. I don't mind" I answered, smiling at the boy in my arms. "You're allowed to play with my hair y'know" He said, giggling. "How did you-" "Because I always know when you're thinking something, or when you want something." I let out a nervous laugh, not moving my hands from his back. He looked up, a frown on his face. "Do you...not want to?" He asked, looking away from me. A pit started to form in my stomach, knowing that if I didn't he would think Adam's words were true. "Of course I want to. But I don't want to make you uncomfortable." He looked at me for a few seconds before he grabbed my hand, and brought it up to his head. "See not so hard" He said, giggling once again. "Oh wait! One more thing" He whispered-yelled. I raised an eyebrow, confused as to what he was talking about.

"Close your eyes," He said. I did as I was told and shut them. I felt him move around, and then something on my cheek.....lips to be exact. My eyes shot open as my face began to heat up, yet again. He leaned over and kissed the other cheek too. ""W-w-what was t-that for??" I asked, surprised by the action. "1) For coming over, 2) For not leaving me. And this one" He said as he leaned in and kissed my lips gently. "That one is just cause I love you"

I was a blushing mess, unable to form any words even though I wanted to scream it back. "I-i-i l-love yo-u-u t-too" I managed to get out after a few more seconds. He smiled extremely big, before wrapping his arms around my neck and kissing me once again. This time I was able to kiss back.

It lasted about 30 seconds before he pulled away. He was smiling once again, before he gently laid back down on my chest, burying his face in the crook of my neck. This time, I wrapped one of my arms around his waist, while I gently ran the other one through his hair. "Goodnight" He whispered. "Goodnight, and don't ever worry about anything ok? I'll always be by your side."

"Kojiro" "Yeah babe?" "Do you remember the night you snuck into my house?" I got up from the couch and walked over to Cherry who was leaning in the doorway to our living room. I wrapped my arms around his waist. "Of course I remember that night," I said, kissing his forehead. "I hope you know, that on that night I fell even more in love with you." "Me too" He smiled, leaning his head on my chest. "I'm glad we are where we are now" He said, kissing my cheek. I grinned before picking him up quickly.He wrapped his legs around me as I carried him upstairs. "Really? You horny gorilla" He said, smirking as we made our way to the bedroom. "I love you" I said grinning. "I love you too Kojiro"
