Do I write Cordelia a little bit too much? Yeah. Do I care? No.
Info~ "this font" = Cordelia's voice. Nobody can hear her though. (She's dead) 😐k. This could be read as a pt. 2 to the "HourGlass Still Goes" chapter. But it's up to you. (Doesn't matter)
————-
"It's been a month. Come on dear."
Has it really only been a month? Myrtle took your hand as you stood in front of the former supremes office.
————-
She had passed exactly 4 weeks and 2 days ago. Keeping track of the days that went by without your lover near was the only thing that kept you sane. The pain still lingered as if it was yesterday. As if it was yesterday when everyone's voice was taken away, nothing felt the same. It was eerie at night, there was no normal feeling of safety and home. But how could it when the one person you called home was gone?
You hadn't gone through any of Cordelia's things. Her clothes were still hanging in the closet just as she left them. The papers on her desk began to collect dust behind close doors as if it were on display, though nobody was allowed to see. The girls encouraged you to unlock that door and start being the supreme you were elegantly supposed to be. Now that you were in charge you established that nobody was to enter the office, you wanted to be the first. That day was still to come.
The first night that the Grim-Reeper took your wife, hit you like a truck. Not being used to falling asleep without her arms wrapped around you or her goodnight kisses, induced many sleepless nights. But if you managed to drift off Myrtle would still find you walking around the coven late at night crying out for Cordelia hoping that all of it was just a nightmare you would soon wake up from. "I can't feel her anywhere. She's not here." You buried your head in Myrtle's shoulder as she rubbed your back cooing you back into a calm state. But I am here sweetheart. Other nights you would find Myrtle outside late, gazing up at the stars. "What are you doing?" You would ask. She'd respond by "Talking to her. She's proud of you. Try it." The red head would walk back into the house as you stood there dumbfounded. You looked up at the dark sky that speckled with stars. You remembered a method Cordelia taught you in her last moments; "Look around until something stands out to you. And there's your calling." -Now you understood why she taught you that, she did promise she'd never leave. "I told you I was going to be fine. I'm not. I don't know how to do it without your hand guiding me." I am helping you. I promised didn't I? Ever since, you would go out every night at the same time; 11:11pm, to vent to her.
—————-
"Come on, just open the door." Myrtle handed you the key to the office. Slowy but surely you inched the key through the slot, turning the knob. Hesitation set in. It's okay love I'll be right here. Finally creaking the door open, The afternoon sun still beamed through the thin silk curtains the same way it would hit Delias skin as she sat at her desk for countless days working making sure everything was in order. Speaks of dust drifted around the room landing on the floorboards or the stack of papers on the dark wooded table.
Taking your first steps in since a month ago a wave of light energy washed over you. It was a warm cozy feeling. Glancing over to the chair that once belonged to the blonde, the ray of sun from the window hit it perfectly. Just like the morning sun hitting Delias face as she sat in that spot. Look until you find your calling. "She's still here working." Typical. Inching closer to the table a small wooden box with a note addressing it to you was placed in a way you knew it was Cordelias doing. Taking the box over the couch in the corner you noticed Myrtle was gone, unknowingly leaving you alone with the fallen supremes spirt.
A small lock on the box was easily removed revealing numerous en envolopes, polorids, and a heart shaped locket that she would always wear that contained a picture of you two on your first date. A tear of comfort left your eye smiling brightly looking through the pictures she had captured over the years. Putting on the necklace you opened up the first envelope it read a poem:
I love you with a deeper love
then any human heart
has ever known
I love you with a soul
that has lived a
thousands lifetimes,
always waiting to meet
you again, so I can promise
to love you again.
-10/29/21
Two days before she died.
A tear dropped onto the paper as you grazed your hand across her handwriting. The amount of envolopes that sat on the box would take hours to go through. Only means I love you. Taking another stack of polorids from the box, you stumbled upon one you searched months for thinking you lost it. It was a picture of you and Cordelia having a picnic on a hill with various flowers surrounding you. It captured everything you loved about her. The way her nose would scrunch when she smiled, her slightly curled blonde hair that laid ever so lightly on her shoulders. Her eyes that gave off the afternoon glow when the sun it them just right. A familiar feeling hit your shoulder. The same one you felt when you walked in. "I miss you" whispering under your breath looking back at the desk. I know. I do too.
