~Tora~
"You're doing so good baby, how does it feel?"
Casper asks as I hold the small rubber ball and give it my strongest squeeze while sitting at the kitchen bar. He takes a break helping Adira meal prep to watch me, wiping his hands on a kitchen towel before tickling the back of my hands with his curling index fingers.
I feel my cheeks burn from the words I've heard Casper say before, but for another reason entirely. Yet in the memory of those three dark nights, I find myself wishing it was for us in the middle of passionate sex instead of me trying to squeeze a stupid blue ball and failing miserably.
"Why don't you take a break? Here try this," Casper asks, taking the ball from me so I can't frustrate myself further before holding a fork of roasted duck. I take a bite and moan at the delicious juicy meat that was a burst of flavor, taking my mind off the physical therapy.
"Pretty good huh? It's my family's secret recipe, my daughter's favorite. So don't tell her I made it for you or she'll get jealous," Adira warns, her soft chuckle fills the room like the warmth coming from the ovens and she really feels like a grandmother when she's here.
Sometimes her daughter Aki even comes along to help her. A sweet girl who's always smiling and respectful even to Casper who often jokes around with her but I'm not worried about it.
"It's really good, thank you Adira," I mumble as Adira pridefully puts her hands on her hips in thought.
"Hmm, do you know what your parents are making for dinner tonight?" She asks and Casper shrugs while my gaze drifts back down to the countertop, getting lost in the maze of black dots.
"I'm unsure, I didn't really ask to be honest," Casper picks up the conversation with her while I gulp, remembering tonight is the night I'm going to the triplets childhood home. I would be actually meeting their parents for the first time instead of in passing or with subtle warnings.
I know their mother probably despises me after I had failed to convince Galen not to fight. So I have a few stern glances to look forward to. However, I suppose I am excited to see their rooms. I feel like I know so much about them, but it's never enough and I want to see how they lived.
I'm already yawning at the thought of so much walking. My body silently drained every day by the little alpha taking over my uterus and making her spot. Dr. Hamish told me to enjoy this first month because it might be the last time in the next four months that I'll be able to leave the house.
"Tora?"
I glance up once more to Casper's gentle prodding of my cheek, from Adira's concerned glance he's probably been trying to talk to me this entire time. In that said time he's stripped off his apron and hung it on the appropriate hook off to the side of the counter. His blush pink sweatshirt unstained with his sleeves rolled up revealing his tattoos and his black chinos hugging him in all the right places. God, I love it when he wears his favorite color.
