"Ok brats, today we'll be choosing the teams for the Grand Magic Games!" Master announced, once again, gathering everyone's attention.

"The teams are, Natsu, Gray, Erza, Lucy, and finally Wendy!"

A chorus of cheers and congratulations for the five wizards were given as they swarmed around, and finally, they dispersed to start all their strenuous training.

Though glad for the others, Y/N was still dejected by the news. Over the course of years it would be an understatement to say she hasn't become stronger.

Yet she never had the chance to prove herself, as though the guild reputation went to shambles every time they came dead last in the games, she knew she could surely still help out with it, and at least allow the guild to not look pathetic to public view.

But it was still very tactless for her, she was still being bombarded with missions all the time in order to provide for the guild. But in reality, she always had wanted a chance to prove her worth to the others, that being, in terms of her strength.

With apprehension, she approached Master Makarov. "Hey Gramps, I'm not judging your selection of people...but I was just kinda wondering why I wasn't chosen."

Master grinned. "Who said your not going to be involved in the games? You're going to be a backup for the team in case there injured to the point they cannot fight."

Y/N glowed excitedly, of course not wanting her guild mates getting injured, but having the slightest chance at being able to participate. With that, she gratefully thanked Master and hurriedly scurried off, coming to a startled stand when accidentally bumping into a group of people.

"Oh, I apologise!" She lifted her head, her face straining into one of nervousness once seeing Laxus, Juvia, Gajeel, Mira and Jellal.

"Wait, what are you doing here Jell- mphh" He
quickly palmed her mouth shut, cautiously glancing around him.

"I'm Mystogen from here on. I'm pretending to be him, so no one can know my name okay?" He briefly muttered, receiving a nod of understanding from Y/N as he slowly removed his hand.

Y/N turned to look at the others beside him, still greatly confused. "Well what are you guys doing here then?"

"Oh, Master called us. He said he wanted to have a word with us." Mira answered. Knowing nothing else would come out by conversing any more, Y/N gave a quick "okay" before walking off to train.

But, before she could do so, a hand gripped around her wrist. "Where are you going?" Laxus asked, quickly letting go of her arm.

"I've gotta train, I'm a backup for anyone who gets injured, you see." Y/N smiled with glee.

"I see...your excited then, aren't you?"

"Yup! Though it's not a 100% I'll join." She scanned the area, seeing everyone preparing for their fights. "Well I gotta go and train now, see ya!" She briefly waved, running off to catch up with the other Fairy Tail members.

She'll be in the games, I just know it. Laxus thought to himself, crossing his arms as he walked off into the guild.

"I'm surprised Master hasn't chose you for the games, Y/N." Wendy softly said, both strolling absently through the streets of Crocus together.

"I'm there if any of you get hurt, it's alright."

"Well it certainly is reassuring that we know you have our back if anything goes wrong." Erza lightly touched her shoulder, walking over from behind them.
