"What should I wear? This?" I asked, pulling out a blue turquoise dress from the closet. Nina smiled sheepishly. "No way." She quickly said. I groaned and hung it up. This is like the third dress I searched in my closet. I'll need something for my lovely date with Troy. He's taking me somewhere as a surprise and rummaging through my closet finding bad dresses don't help. I huffed and flunked myself on my bed. Nina playfully petted my head. "Relax M! You're beautiful! You don't need glamorous dresses to prove it." She told me. I inhaled a deep breath. "I just wanna look good for this date with Troy." I mumbled. Somehow thoughts about Zack came back. It bothered me one bit when he was betted on by Wendy. I know I'm trying to get back at him by going out with Troy but...I don't feel going through it. He's really sweet and understanding. I'm thankful to be hanging out with him partially because of helping the cheer squad. Right now, I'm dealing with wardrobe issues. My brain clicked. Lexi! She can help me! I grabbed my phone off the nightstand and texted her to bring all her dress arsenal. "Who are you texting?" Nina asked. I looked up and smiled. "You'll see." I said. After two minutes, our door revealed Lexi's appearance. She smiled while holding three outfits covered in plastic. "Your designer to the rescue!" She joked. We laughed as she laid them on my bed. "Now for your date with Mr. Bolton, which one you like better?" She asked. I studied the outfits for a minute. The first was a yellow sundress, second is a black dress with the watch and white/pinkish dress alongside a jean jacket. I pointed to the third outfit. It's pretty cute! She cheered happily. "Great! Want me to do hair and makeup?" She asked. I quickly nodded. Nina laughed. "Hurry up! Get dressed!" She said, rushing me to the bathroom and handed me the outfit. I unchanged and got dressed into this. Wow! Really cute! I came out enough to be astonished. A big makeup kit with hair comb, hairbrush and curling iron. My eyes widened. She smiled widely. "Let the styling begin!" She said. Nina scoffed, raising an eyebrow. "Looks like pampering." She muttered. I nodded in agreement. She applied makeup on my face and curled my hair. I studied myself in the mirror. A sicky feeling overflowed through my body. Not about Troy and I's date. It is about Zack. I've never felt this before. My emotions were rising while I fiddled with my fingers. Is this really over? Are we over? We're just not speaking right now because of our argument and I feel really sick about it. A tear almost fell until I wiped it off. I admit, I really miss him so much. "You ok?" Nina asked. I snapped out of my thoughts. "Oh! Uh...I'm fine. Really good." I said. She nodded. Lexi finally put down the curling iron and smiled. "All done! You look amazing!" She squealed. I fake smiled and got off the bed. The doorbell ringed. "Mia! Troy's here!" Morgan yelled.
Nina cheered quietly. "Alright. Here's your bag." She said, handing me my purse. I checked my bag and found my phone inside. Lexi patted my shoulder. I walked out of the room, finding him at the bottom of the staircase. He smiled sweetly. "The first time I experience beauty." He said. My cheeks burned red. I looked down and giggled. "Oh stop. Where are you taking me?" I asked. He shushed me with his finger. "A good magician never reveals his secrets." He joked. We chuckled. We left the house and headed for his car. I made myself comfortable. Thoughts about 'someone' returned. I inhaled a deep breath. Our hands intertwined, making me forget my worries for this special date. He smiled. I returned the gesture as he drove off from the driveway.

The drive took 20 minutes. Troy never cease to make anyone laugh hard. He told silly stories about himself when he was younger. My eyes being closed the whole time was for the surprise location. It was even more funnier. "We're here!" He whispered. I laughed. "About time. I would've fell asleep with these closed." I joked. He chuckled as he pulled up somewhere. I carefully got out the car and opened my eyes. My stomach churned differently toward this wonderful field. My eyes widened. "Troy, this is...amazing." I muttered. He smiled. "All for the only girl I see." He said. I madly blushed as I sat on the blanket. Everything was beautiful including a delicious lunch. He sat across from me where I saw a bottle of Non-alcoholic Strawberry Sangria. Long name but true. Mom always let me drink this during New Years as an example for having no real alcohol. He poured the teapot into our cups and handed me the second one. I laughed. "Cheers?" I said. Troy chuckled. "Cheers!" He said, clinking his cup with mine. I drank a little before putting it down. He sighed happily. "Now, I'd like to know more about the famous Mia Rain." He said. I scoffed. "Like what? You've already met my friends and Morgan." I joked. He held my hand and nodded his head no. "More about you. About your singing, how long you've been doing that?" He asked. I smiled. "My whole life. Me and Nina used to sing Disney songs before she was captured. She'd talk about wanting to be an actress and I'd talk about wanting to be an artist. It got really hard after she left but I toughened and decided to make a channel. First time for everything. So far I kept making videos and singing more. There you have it." I explained. He hummed in response. "It's like you never gave up after losing her. Push after push." He said. I nodded in agreement and ate two grapes. "What about you? How long you've been practicing jump-shots?" I slightly joked. Troy chuckled. "My whole life. Every kindergarten game, middle school game and now high school. Me and Chad met on our first kindergarten game. Hoops have always been his dream." He told me. What about his dream? It doesn't sound like it was his dream. I shrugged. "What about you? Is it your dream?" I asked. He looked down for a minute before sighing. "Haven't reached...or found it yet." He admitted. I sighed sadly, squeezing his hand. Troy looked up and smiled. "I'm fine." He whispered. I nodded in disagreement and playfully stick a grape in his mouth. He fake gasped. "Aww! You gave me grapes!" He joked. I laughed. "They're delicious!" I said. We began feeding each other grapes and drinking Sangria. He opened the basket of grapes, pulling out these wonderful pack of roses. It reminded me of the day I found roses in my locker with the card. 'The world gets bigger whenever you smile. Nobody could ever have that smile...except me when our lips connect.' My brain clicked. OMG! Why didn't I figured it out sooner?! Troy sent me those flowers! I covered my mouth in shock. He looked at me worriedly. "What's wrong?" He asked. I smiled widely and pointed at him. "You were the guy who gave me those roses in my locker! It was you!" I said. He laughed. "You guessed it! Happy birthday." He told me. I raised an eyebrow confusedly. "My birthday passed months ago." I said. Troy playfully rolled his eyes and smiled. "I know. Lisa told me so I wanted to give you a late gift to show how much I care." He said. I madly blushed. Aww, this is really sweet. I'm just blown away. "And because I liked you for a while." He admitted. I looked at him in awe and kissed his cheek. "I like you too, Troy." I whispered. His eyes widened. "You do?" He asked. I laughed and nodded. Thoughts about the homecoming dance almost made me feel sick to my stomach. My insides were twisting and my stomach churned the wrong way. Tears fell from my eyes. Troy held my hand tightly. "Are you ok?" He asked. I wiped my eyes and got off the ground. "I'm fine! Just ok. Can we go now? Please?" I begged. He grabbed a hold of my hands, having me to sit down. "Tell me what's wrong." He repeated. I inhaled a deep breath. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry and I don't mean to say this after we admitted we liked each other but...I can't go to the dance." I told him. He looked at me in shock. "Why? Don't you wanna go for supporting the cheerleaders?" He asked. A tear fell naturally on my cheek. "Zack. That's why. I love you but I love him too. It freaking hurts not knowing where we stand right now. I was a little worried about girls betting off him because obviously, I was clearly jealous." I explained. Troy scoffed. "You have nothing to be jealous about. Mia, you're gorgeous! Smart, confident and better than good enough. I'll regret saying this but Zack wouldn't pick another girl over you. Maybe he was confused and never wanted to intentionally hurt you. Wendy betting on him was unexpected. Whatever happened, you're still the only girl he sees." He said. All he said shocked me for a minute. I didn't know he could get this out of his chest. Especially when he hates Zack. He took a deep breath and smiled. "If you want, we can skip the dance and just have a regular date." He said. Thoughts left my mind about the dance. I'm not gonna skip it because of guy issues. I wanna have an awesome time with my friends only. I smiled warmly. "I'd love to go with you." I said. He returned the gesture and kissed me. I melted in the kiss. We parted. "Alright. Hand me your keys, I'll be shopping for dresses." I joked. He chuckled. We finished our lunch and got in the car. I laid my head on his shoulder as he started the engine. My hand fiddled with his fingers. Troy smiled through the rearview mirror. I returned the gesture. Guess I'm going to the dance.
