Detention Breakout

This is not good. Not good for me actually.
Being in detention with my friends. Not to mention, Lexi's in the picture. I scoffed. Who am I kidding? I would love to spend detention with my friends. More likely because I wouldn't be surrounded by delinquents who attend detention daily. After going to Mr. Belding's office, we officially attended detention after school. I texted mom and she was indeed freaking out. Luckily, she stopped when I mentioned Lexi's name. She stayed as well. We weren't allowed to leave till 4pm. Mr. Belding was occupying himself by reading a magazine about unitards. Ugh, that's weird. Lisa was busy doing her makeup. Jessie played with her bracelets. Slater laid back onto his seat bored. Kelly and I began texting each other secretly. It's mostly about Jeff, her boyfriend. I'm happy for her since she is. Somehow I felt someone staring at me. I smirked and saw Zack who winked at me. He's such a cute weirdo. Screech sat, giving weird looks to pass the time. I went back to texting Kelly. Mr. Belding saw me and I looked up, faking a smile. He returned the gesture and kept reading. The others looked at me in shock except Kelly. I chuckled and texted Kelly to add them to groupchat.

Bubba😭♥️: u easily fooled Mr. Belding even I couldnt do it that easy

I stopped texting when I noticed Lexi adding herself to the groupchat.

Lex💜💙: hey guys!

Mia💃🏻🎤: hey Ms. get her friends in detention🙄

Lisa💓👑: why so rude Mia?

Lex💜💙: its not my fault I didnt know Bayside rules

Screech🥸👊🏼: yea we only got one hour till we leave...which is before our parents ground us for getting detention

"Kids!" Mr. Belding called. We looked up from our phones. "I just got a call and I'll be gone for 30 minutes. No funny business and no tricks. Got it?" He said, eyeing Zack. He nodded, fake smiling. "Yes, Mr. Belding. We'll be good." He said. I fake smiled. "Yeah we'll be on our best behavior." I said. He nodded and left, closing the door. I whipped toward everyone. "Ok, how do we get out of detention?" I asked. Jessie looked at me in disbelief. "Get out of detention? We'll be in much trouble if we do." She said. Zack smiled and got up. "Not if we got a plan." He said. I nodded in agreement. Slater shrugged. "Ok, preppy and M, what do you got?" He asked. Zack and I smiled and discussed the plan. I know what you're thinking. Mia, why you're making a scheme with Zack just because he's your boyfriend? Well, nope. I'm making one because I wanna get out of here and hang with my friends.

Mr. Belding was still gone for 30 minutes. That's the only time we have to bust out of here. We left the classroom and snuck in the hallway. Mr. Belding's office was straight ahead. We're dead if he walks out of there. Zack motioned us to walk past the office. We can't make any sounds so we tip-toed. Screech bumped his foot on the trash can. "Ow!" He whined. Zack covered his mouth. We groaned and shushed him. Slater grabbed his collar, pulling him as we got past his office. We was this close to the front door so we quickened our pace. Zack ran back to the stairs. I hated to leave him, but it was apart of the plan. He needs to distract Mr. Belding or we get caught. I smiled softly. He smiled and waved. "Cmon!" Kelly whispered. She grabbed my arm as we raced out the door. We made a beeline to Slater's car. It wasn't long till we heard- "ZACK!" Mr. Belding yelled. I laughed and got inside. He drove away from the parking lot. They dropped me off and Lexi and I climbed through my bedroom window.
We breathed a breath of relief and flunked on my bed. Lexi chuckled. "Zack did a really good job getting us out." She said. I smirked. "Mr. Belding must be calling his mom by now." I said. "Your parents home yet?" She asked. I nodded my head no. "Morgan usually hangs at her friend's house after school so mom picks her up after work. Dad doesn't come till 7pm I think." I said. She nodded in understanding. She hopped out of bed and sighed. "How about we can watch TV with popcorn?" She said. I smiled and nodded. We walked downstairs. Lexi heated up the popcorn and I turned to our favorite shows.

Two hours passed and Lexi fell asleep on the bed. Our bowl of popcorn was empty and I stayed awake. Someone knocked softly on my window. I looked and saw Zack smiling and waving. I happily rolled out of bed and opened the window. He carefully climbed inside without waking up Lexi. I smiled. "You're here? Did you had an escape plan yourself?" I whispered. He chuckled. "Nope! I only stayed...enough for Mr. Belding to call my mom." He said, rolling his eyes. I said nothing and hugged him. He was a little surprised but hugged back. He smirked. "Hey, what's this for?" He asked. I playfully rolled my eyes. "Cause I love you, duh." I said. He smiled and kissed me. I melted in the kiss. Well, that's the truth. "So cute!" A voice said. We jumped and saw Lexi wide awake, smiling. How is she up? I thought she was sleep! "Dude, how long you been awake?" I asked. "Two minutes." She simply said. I raised an eyebrow and groaned. Zack rolled his eyes. She smiled and rolled out of bed. "I'll leave you two alone." She said, walking out. I turned my attention back to Zack. I smiled. "How about we play a game?" I suggested. He smirked and locked the door. This will be an interesting time.
