"Are we still in America?" Michael asked. Slater woken up as the girls noticed how weird and dead these woods look. It is almost like a crazy tornado crushed all the dead trees and made the river contaminated with many dirt. Mr. Evers smiled. "Hang on kids, we're almost there." He said. I think everyone except Mr. Evers have noticed how strange this part of town is. Slater smiled sheepishly. "Yikes! This woods have really let go." He said. Jessie scoffed, rolling her eyes.
"It's because mankind wrecked it buster." She sassed. Zack rolled his eyes. "Get real Jessie. These woods look like a hurricane hit it." He said. Screech raised an eyebrow. "It looks like my house backyard." He added. Kelly huffed irritatingly. I wasn't really focusing on their argument and instead on Mr. Evers pulling up to this very mysterious house. My eyes widened. "Um...guys..." I trailed off. Their attention laid on the abandoned mansion with closed gates. All our jaws dropped including Michael and Megan's. This house look incredibly strange. We stared in complete shock yet curiousness came from Zack and me. Screech gulped, managing to speak. "Have anyone seen this before?" He asked. I nodded my head no. Lisa looked at it disgustedly. "That mansion is so old and dirty. Why would Mr. Evers want to sell it?" She whispered. Zack hummed in response. "Something about this place gives me different vibes." He said. I almost spoke until Kelly sneezed...again. She covered her nose and coughed. Mrs. Evers turned around. "Are you ok sweetie?" She asked nicely. Kelly crossed her legs and rubbed her arms repeatedly. "I'm just really cold." She told her. Mr. Evers smiled kindly. "We should go inside. Maybe they'll have a lit fireplace for everyone to warm up." He said. All of us looked at him as if he's crazy. Us?
Go inside the mansion? I mentally hoped he was joking. He was only giving a little detour and then leave. Slater smiled nervously. "I'm sorry sir, do you mean we go inside that place?" He asked. Mr. Evers quickly nodded. "As soon as we try to open the gates." He said. Himself and Mrs. Evers unbuckled their seatbelts, getting out of the car. I watched silently as they walked up to the closed gates. There must be a reason why someone closed off the mansion. It seemed completely weird and gives me a different feeling in my gut. "Mia? Mia?" Megan called. I snapped out of my thoughts. "Yeah?" I said. "Are you ok?" She asked. I fake smiled. "Yup. I'm fine." I lied. Kelly covered her mouth and sneezed. Jessie patted her shoulder. "You need to be in a warm place or you're gonna catch a cold." She said. Slater bent to speak in Zack and Screech's ears. "I bet nobody has ever lived there in years." He whispered. Zack nodded in agreement.
"I know. It gives a real creepy vibe." He whispered.
Screech gulped shakily. "What if it's haunted?" He said out loud. He slapped the back of his head. I cleared my throat. "Guys, we can hear you." I said in a obvious tone. Jessie rolled her eyes. "Screech, it's not haunted. It's an old house and someone wants to sell it. That is normal." She told him. Lisa wrapped her arms around Kelly in order to keep her warm. I smiled sheepishly. "I don't know Jess. Doesn't this mansion seem kinda strange to you?" I said. Zack smiled excitingly. "Yeah. It looks all sorts of haunting! We should really check it out!" He beamed. Kelly groaned. "Haunted houses are not real. Neither is ghosts." She said hoarsely. I mentally face-palmed. Now we'll hear complaints about ghosts from Screech. He shuddered, scooting closer to Lisa. "Ghosts?!" He whispered/yelled. She pushed him away gently. Michael low-key chuckled. "What a scaredy cat." He mumbled. I raised an eyebrow firmly. "Be nice." I whispered in his ear. He smiled innocently. "Imagine all of us walking into a haunted house like the ones on TV. We'd be famous if we prove ghosts are real." Zack said dreamily. I smiled. "And we'll wake up the next day." I joked. Everyone bursted into laughter. He fake pouted. I kissed his nose. Sometimes I love messing with my blondie Prince. Mr. and Mrs. Evers walked away from the gates which meant nobody's probably there. The gates suddenly opened wider by itself.
All our jaws dropped. "Oh my..." Screech trailed off before collapsing on his seat. My heart skipped a beat. "Does that look normal to you?" Zack asked annoyedly. Jessie ignored him and laid against her seat. Mr. and Mrs. Evers got inside the car. "Back in your seats kids, we're going in." He instructed. We sat comfortably while studying the creepy mansion. My stomach didn't stop twisting the bad feeling.

Mr. Evers drove past the gates and parked near the entrance. The whole time Nina hadn't said anything which is weird. We got out the car, getting our bags. Megan slammed the door. Mr. Evers looked at her firmly. "Hey Megan, don't slam the car like that. It's very sensitive." He said. I looked at him confusedly. "It's a car Mr. Evers." I said. He nodded in disagreement. "It's not just a car. It's a very delicate piece of machinery. She didn't mean what she just said baby." He said, mumbling the last part. We rolled our eyes. Nina and Kelly wrapped their arms around each other. They must be really freezing now. I held Nina's hand but I let go. "You need to warm up." I said. She playfully rolled her eyes. "Duh." She whispered. Slater huffed. "I'm hungry." He said. Michael nodded. "Me too." He agreed. Mr. Evers scoffed. "Don't worry, we'll be 20 minutes tops." He said. Zack was still examining the mansion like a detective. We climbed on the small staircase where there's an open view of a backyard.
Nina and Kelly stayed with Mrs. Evers and Megan near the mansion windows. Zack stared at the backyard in total shock. "Guys, check this out!" He called. "Now there's something you don't see everyday." Mr. Evers added. We looked at the backyard filled of gravestones. Correction; dead people. I shifted myself uncomfortably. Lisa covered her mouth in shock. "Oh. My. God. Dead people?!" She said. Mrs. Evers shrugged. "Some people have pools and some people have private cemeteries. It happens." She said calmly. If I ever come across houses with cemeteries, I'll probably run. Megan sighed. "You're gonna sell a house with this?" She asked, referring to the cemetery. Mr. Evers raised an eyebrow. "We'll just stick to the bright side." He said. Mrs. Evers nodded in agreement. Out of nowhere, thunder clicked and rain started pouring crazily. "Ugh! Seriously?!" Lisa growled. Zack covered mine and his head with his jacket. We came up to the doorstep, wiping our wet clothes and squeezing our hairs. Hint; the girls. Mrs. Evers sighed sadly. "I hope it's not raining at the lake." She said. Nina coughed. "All the more reason to sit by the fire!" She yelled a bit. We chatted in agreement. Mr. Evers knocked two times. "Evers Real Estate!" He called. Wow. These owners do like to take their time. The door suddenly opened by itself. Our eyes widened, not only because of the door but inside of the creepy mansion.

We walked inside still mesmerized. I've never seen anything like this. "Sarah, this takes us into a whole new beginning." Mr. Evers told her. It looked really dusty and rather filled of spiderwebs. Kelly sneezed softly. "Bless you." Lisa quickly said. Megan hummed in response. "Smells like grandma's house." She said. "Worse. Smells like grandma." Michael added. Nina groaned, sneezing. Mr. Evers sighed. "This place is just a little dusty. The cleaning crew will come shine it up and the place will be spotless from top to bottom." He said. I playfully rolled my eyes. Screech stared at the little cobwebs with spiders. "Spiders?!" He whispered fearfully. That made Michael wrapped his arm around Mrs. Evers fearfully. "Mom, this place has spiders." He said. Is he scared of spiders? I didn't know. A tall figure in the hallway was walking up to us. He was an elderly man, wearing a uniform suited for a butler. Thunder noise clicked with lightning as he stopped in his tracks. I made eye contact with Zack. "Again. Creepy." He whispered. We nodded in agreement. My gut felt nothing but really bad feelings about this man.
