When I woke up again I felt like I slept for a week. If I did I wouldn't have known it. The room was empty, and the weird device was still beeping. I took the opportunity to think about what had happened because my mind was all over the place making it hard to stay calm.
'Okay Celene, just think. What happened...'
'Okay so first things first, I don't know my last name, I don't know how old I exactly am, I don't know what year it even is.'
Thinking this is just disappointing me, I did keep some sort track of time. but I would move on from that though, it wasn't what I needed to be disappointed about right now.
'Okay Celene, what do we know...?'
'Okay, I was 13-ish when I got taken to the assholes... I was there for 7 or 8 years, I marked every day, for as good as I could. But that means I'm 20, or 21 maybe, but can I find that out later.'
I smiled at the thought, time went fast, even tho it didn't feel like that when I was stuck at that awful place. I finally could appreciate that I wasn't there anymore, everything they fucking did to me...
'no, now is not the time for sad thoughts.' How was I even positive at this moment?
'After I can walk, these guys here probably want me gone, I'm only a burden to them, and I could hurt them, and they don't even know.' Suddenly a sharp headache came up getting me out of my thoughts and bringing me to an entirely other place in my mind.
"Jesus, what the hell?" I said while I grabbed my head with my hands as if it would help ease the pain. As if someone else was pulling my head in the direction it wanted to go squeezing my brain.
'Cap, did you got the eggs I like from the store?'
'Shut up Tony, I brought the first eggs I saw now please don't act like a 10-year-old!'
'Now if you excuse me, j.a.r.v.i.s. says Celene is awake, maybe she is ready to meet you guys later, but for now I will just go by myself.'
'If he is walking in here, I'm gonna cry.'
And a minute later Steve walked into the room, he looked at me and he furrowed his brows looking at the disturbed girl.
'Wow I'm officially crazy' I thought slightly panicked but the humour made it lighter for me.
"Hey, are you okay? J.a.r.v.i.s. told me you were awake" Steve said and I was still looking wondering if he was real. I was really focusing on not looking like I was hearing voices because he would send my ass back.
Test or not, at this point all I cared about was finding out what the hell was happening. Any place was better than hydra, these guys were nice to me. It was hard to believe this was a test but even harder to believe I was out of the shithole.
"Yeah, I'm fine thanks. How long did I sleep?" I asked to change the subject. It worked because Steve's face softened and he smiled at me. "For 4 days, but you probably really needed it to heal, you look better," he said and I nodded taking the answer.
"4 Days.... that's a lot of hours," I responded dryly making me want to palm slap my face for how stupid I must've sounded.
'That's like a hibernation for me' At this point, I was freaking out, but I wasn't showing that, but how the hell did I sleep for so long? That never happened unless I overdosed and that took a lot of medication.
"I got you some water and food," Steve interrupted the silence and I looked at the food. "It smells good... what is it?" I asked when it looked familiar. Steve just looked at me with a weird face.
