6 days has passed since my last session with Dr. Schwartz, which also meant it's been 6 days since my failed attempts for my letter to Kate-Anna. To say I felt pressure was an understatement and I didn't do well under pressure.

It's just a stupid letter I think to myself as I'm driving down the road to have lunch with my father.

I'm unsure of what I want to say to the "letter" Kate-Anna. I haven't even saw her since I left the hospital. I hadn't been searching for her, but I hadn't been avoiding her per say.

Dad & I sat down at Oliver's Sandwich shop and had small talk. Dad was a simple man, he was focused and successful and he was a man of few words. His words were of importance so you paid attention to them as he spoke.

As I opened the wrapper to my turkey, bacon and Swiss sandwich, my dad started conversation.

"Lu, I know your here for the summer and you've been helping your mom at around the house, but I thought it would be good experience for You to come hang around the office and learn the ropes of the firm."

I slurped my orange soda and cleared my throat.

"I'm not sure there is enough room
for me, dad. I don't want to put anyone out. "

"Nonsense son. My receptionist is out on maternity leave and I have been trying to fill her spot. Come try it for a week or so, I'll pay you a good hourly rate and we can go from there. It would
Help me out in a bind, kid."

"Sure dad. As long as it's no trouble."

"Not at all."
He said as I watched his eye grow big behind my head.

Looking in the direction he was, I saw Kate-Anna and a tall brown headed man climb into the sandwich shop To avoid the rain.

'Who is he?' I thought to myself, hoping I didn't say that out loud.

Kate looked beautiful and I noticed she was in her nursing scrubs.

My thoughts of her were interrupted by my fathers cell phone and his immediate departure as he motions to his phone and mouths "I'm sorry."

I was a good thing I was done with my meal. I tossed my trash and made my way to the door.

From a few feet away, Kate-Anna saw me and waved. "Hey Lucas!"

"Hey." I said wriggling my fingers.

As I was placing my beanie back on my head, she walked to me.

"How are you?" She asked concerned.

"I'm great actually. And you?"

"I'm good. Just on lunch." She smiled.

Before I could say anything else the brown headed guy came to stand beside her and hands her a bag.

"Here you go Kate-Anna" he said.

Pointing his cup to me, he says "who's this?"

Who am I? Who the fuck are you, asswipe!?

"This is my child hood friend, Lucas. Lucas Wesley. "

"Lucas, this is Samuel Ramirez. He is a nurse on my floor."

He held his hand out and I noticed his perfectly manicured nails.

"Hello handsome." He said.

"Umm... Hello." I replied back.

Then it dawned on me, this handsome
man in front of me wasn't her boyfriend. In fact I'm not sure that Samuel had ever had a girlfriend.

He flashes his hand at me and I catch a glimpse of a ring.
