I made it to Saturday without spontaneously combusting from excitement and I do feel majorly accomplished for finishing the week,
If I do say so myself.

It's odd for me, I almost feel like I am discovering a new me that wasn't ever there and I like the fact that even though it's only been a week that I've worked at Dad's firm, that I feel better about being such a crappy human before.

I even managed through one of my dad's clients to discover a few rental places that have potential.

I scheduled a few appointments this morning with Mr. Shelton to scope out these apartments and see how I liked them.

After the 3rd apartment I was exhausted and I was unsure I would find a place, that I felt showed I was "all grown up".

I didn't want to be in Downtown Compton, and I definitely didn't want to be in the South end, because that's were all the drugs and the people I ran with hung.

The last apartment was about 5 minutes away from my parents house. That seemed to be convenient because I would still go over there for dinner.

The apartment was fairly new with renovations, it was 2 bedrooms and it had a half bath in the hall, while the master bedroom had a full. The kitchen was small but I wouldn't be cooking away. It was clean and affordable so I decided to file the proper paper work and prepare for a deposit and rent.

Mr. Shelton handed my keys to my new apartment and I stood there, feeling proud of the fact that I had provided for myself.

Yes, I still had money that belonged to my parents in my account, but I also knew even without it, I could afford to pay for this alone.

I make my way to my parents house around 3 and start getting ready to pick Kate up for our 7oclock reservation to La Gala. I have to pick her up at 6 because it's around an hour drive to Newton.

***************

Kate text me her address and I was surprised to know she only lived a block or so away from my parents house.

I walked up her apartment building and found the door with 4B written on the door.

I knocked and minutes later, beautiful blue eyes greeted me.

I stood awestruck of this breathtaking goddess in front of me, dressed in a black cocktail dress, black peep toe heels and gold jewelry. I inhaled her scent as she stepped closer to me and closed her door.

"You.. You look very beautiful, Kate." I said, my voice was hoarse.

"Awe. Thank you, Luke. " she smiled back to me.

We walked to my mustang and I proceeded to the passenger side to open the door as I watched her long sleek legs climb in.

Getting in the drivers seat and putting the car in reverse, I felt even more nervous than I did before going to her door.

"How have you been?" She asked.

I turned down the dial to the radio, to answer her.

"I'm good actually. Today, my dad's client Mr Shelton help me find an apartment. "

"An apartment? Are you staying?" She asked.

"For a while, I suppose." I shrugged.

"Well that's exciting. Where is it? "

"One the corner of 1st and Wilcox" I said.

"I know that place, very nice." She nudged me with her arm.

The conversation inside the car feel silent for a while, but it was welcome and not awkward.

We arrived at La Gala 10 minutes before our reservations.
