I woke up before my 8:30 alarm could go off.

I slept like I was in hibernation last night and I feel very much rested now.
I'm ecstatic to be spending the morning with Kate. Maybe this evening too?

I brush my teeth and took my shower.
I felt confident staring back at my reflection in the mirror. I felt like a new version of me, not the drunk punk ass I used to be.

I tried a little harder on my hair this morning and I liked the way it stuck up all over in a messy, but I guess sultry? I don't know, I'm a damn dude.

I wore Dickies khaki pants, a black v neck shirt with grey stripes, and my black converse, spritz (such a feminine word) on some cologne and I was out the door.

It's a gorgeous day for Breakfast with Kate. The sun is out, the wind blew lightly and it was about 72.

I drove to Kate-Anna's apartment, with the windows down on my mustang & it was just the breath of fresh air I needed.

I walked to her door and knocked. I could hear rustling and muffled talking. I tried to not be nosey but I inched toward the door.

After about 3 Minutes, Kate-Anna's mother appeared before me.

"Lucas." She said curtly.

"Penelope." I said back.

"Kate will be here shortly, I'll be here in a moment. Excuse me."

She closed the door. Rude!

It was getting awkward just standing outside on her doorstep and I was about to retreat to my car when she came out.

She was dressed simple in a pair of jean shorts, gladiator sandals and a Maroon 5 concert tee. Her hair braided to the side and lip gloss.

I wanted to taste that lip gloss, but that would make me insensitive. I should stop being so weird, you know like the weird taste you get in your mouth after you brush your teeth and THEN drink orange juice? Yes that weird.

We decided on a total white girl breakfast at Starbucks. How cliche of her.

We ate our bagels and muffins while drinking our Venti iced coffees on the patio. It was nice to be so normal.
I laughed a bit there. Normal?

"What's so funny?" She asked peeking over at me.

I glared at her out of my Ray Bans and said "Starbucks."

"Starbucks?" She asked.

"It's so normal of me." I said.

She laughed and she smiled back at me.

"You're far from normal Luke Wesley."

After our breakfast, I walked her to my car and held the door open. She kissed my cheek as she climbed in and mouthed "Thank you."

"So where to now?" She asked.

"I'm free all day." I said.

"Are you sure?" She said looking at her watch. "I have about 3 more hours before my roommate needs me."

"Yes, Kate. I haven't made any plans. Anything you want to do, let's go."

"Could we go back to your house to talk?"

"Talk? I sense I'm in trouble." I joked.

"No." She scoffed. "You've been very well behaved."

We pull up to my apartment and make our way to my door.
