I had a huge surprise for you and for Kate.
I don't know how I managed to sneak around with you knowing but I did and I can't wait to see her reaction and yours for the upcoming.
Let me rewind, so you can get in the head of Lucas Wesley and hopefully all events come into play in my favor.
I had been searching for a long time now for the perfect piece of jewelry for Kate-Anna.
I knew what I wanted, but I couldn't find it and it began to be absolutely frustrating.
After weeks of searching, I found it and I KNEW it was perfect.
It was beautiful just like her and it looked just like I have saw in my mind. Fit for a absolute queen.
It came with a hefty price tag, but who can put a price of love?
I've been racking my brain for a romantic, one of a kind way to propose to Kate.
Yes, you read that right. Propose to Kate.
I didn't want one of those silly flash mobs when a bunch of people just flop around like a fish to a corny Bruno Mars song.
I didn't want a Will you marry me banner to fly in the sky by a helicopter.
I didn't want a "We're getting married." Bed room proposal.
I wanted it to be special, special like Kate-Anna was to me.
Every night this week, Before Rhett went to bed, I would sit in the living room and strum on my guitar.
Kate thought it was just a melody, but I was really practicing for my proposal.
I told my mother I wanted to propose to Kate and she was beside herself with joy.
She told me it was about time, she wanted more grandchildren and I think she's absolutely looney.
She asked me if I needed her to watch Rhett but I wanted him to be with me.
Kate-Anna came home from work that Saturday night, exhausted. Rhett and I, meaning I had spent all day cleaning my apartment and preparing chicken casserole for dinner.
Kate changed into a pair of pajamas shorts and one of my t-shirts, tossed her hair up on her head. She looked breath taking and I was so grateful for her.
My stomach was in knots the whole evening. After dinner, Rhett and I played with cars and I got out my guitar.
Kate came around to listen, like I knew she would.
My heart was running faster than my head, as Rhett climbed up in her lap.
I was anxious, a nervous wreck.I began the chords and let the words slip out of my mouth.
"Forever could never be, long enough for me, to feel like I've had long enough with you." I sang.
"Marry me, today and everyday. Marry me, if I ever get the nerve to say hello in this cafe, say you will. Mmmhmm. Marry me."
Kate watched me in awe and as I finished out my acoustic version of Trains "Marry Me", her eyes closed like she was absorbing the lyrics that I sang to her.
How exquisite she was, and I knew it was the right time.
I fumbled from my seat and made my way to her and Rhett.
I bent down in front of her and grabbed her hand before her eyes opened to look at me.
I swallowed the lump in my throat and exhaled a breath.
She just stared at me as I spoke.
"Katie. There are many times in my life I have been unsure about who I am and who I want to be, but about you I am not, you, I know for certain. I knew the first time I laid eyes on you, I would love you and I did. I spent years pushing that love deep into a corner, trying to fight its existence while I made a mess of myself and you sacrificed so much for me. You, my Katie are the most selfless person I know. You touch my life with such grace, but never take anything less than all from me, you are tender but stern, strong but vulnerable and I admire so much about you. I loved you before, but nothing can compare to how much I love you now.
without you I don't exist. You have gave me things, I never knew was in my realm of possibilities. You have had faith in me, when I am unsure of myself. You and Rhett are my world, my whole world. I couldn't face this life another day, unless I know you're in this with me. It would be my great honor and one of my most important titles if you would do me the pleasure and be my wife. Kate-Anna will you marry me?"Tears fell from her eyes as I fumbled in my pocket and pulled out a mint green box.
I opened it for her, and inside sat her ring. A beautiful white gold square diamond ring, with 9 diamond set across the top.
My hands were shaking like an earthquake and I started counting the seconds of our silence.
She just looked at me, crying and smiling. She looked at the ring, back at me and smiled again.
After what seemed like forever she said "Yes." But her voice was low.
"Yes?" I asked.
"YES!" She screamed and Rhett cheered.
I slipped the ring on her finger and she gawked at it.
"Oh Luke, this is. This is beautiful." She said as she held her hand out.
I grabbed her face and crashed her lips to mine.
"It's beautiful just like you." I said to her.
"I love you, Lucas Wesley!" She said against my lips.
"And I love you, Katie."
Rhett and Kate were the center of my world and tonight, Kate had made me the happiest man alive.
