How did I get so lucky?
If you could see her, you would pat me on the shoulder.Trying to form a word to describe her beauty deemed impossible. But for the sake of it all, she is just that. Impossibly beautiful.
Today she looks extraordinary. Her hair was in a knot on her head, but she looked like a goddess, the way her shorts fell to her legs and elongated them was breath taking. To catch a glimpse of her collar bone peaking out from her tank top was captivating me and my eyes lingered there for a while. My eyes marked a path up and down her body, long before I ever met her eyes and when I locked in on crystal like eyes, my heart fluttered and I was sure it would fault.
Impossibly beautiful.
I smiled at her as the butterflies made their way into the pit of my stomach and she smiled back. I waited for her to lock the door and I swooped her up in a hug.
Sitting her dainty legs back to the ground, she giggled and said "What was that for?"
"What?" I asked?
"You seem rather happy to see me." She answered.
I grabbed her hips and brought them toward me. I placed my finger below her chin and tilted her head to look at me.
"I am always happy to see you. You are breath taking as always and I love you."She smiled and it was as if she was staring into my soul.
"And I love you. Oh, and your not to bad yourself."It was a short drive down the dirt trail in Compton to where I wanted to take Kate-Anna.
I watched as she hid her eyes behind sunglasses and smiled at the wind waving through my truck.
When I pulled into the meadow where I had sat a blanket and a basket earlier today, she glanced over at me and asked, "Here?"
"Here." I replied as I threw my truck into park.
I climbed out and walked to her door, I helped her climb down and we made a trail to the blanket.
As we kicked off our shoes and had a seat, I was caught up in how Kate seemed to be taking in our surroundings and absorbing the tranquility like a sponge.
The sun was beaming behind clouds, it was warm but it was just right. We were in a field of wild flowers and below us was a stream. You could hear the running of the stream as it pressed it's way down hill onto rocks. It was peaceful and almost as pretty as the girl I was here with. Almost.
We sat around and talked and ate our dinner from Lenny's, we laid down and stared at the clouds, making shapes out of their puffiness. We watched as a pair of monarch butterfly's danced along the wind behind one another and Kate-Anna ssshhh'd me when a Deer and a fawn made their way to the stream for a drink.
We talked and laughed until our stomachs hurt, we laid on our backs and cuddled as the sun beamed through the sky and warmed our faces.
"I love you, Luke." Kate said as her head was on my chest.
"I love you, Kate." I replied.
She raised herself up and placed her lips against mine.
I was lost in her kiss and it made me feel reckless but I didn't mind.
Our lips danced in tune with one another's for quite some time. I had to sporadicly stop here and there to smile and breath because my stomach was in knots. She drives me crazy, this girl.
I felt her weight shift but she made a conscious effort that our lips never part. I felt one knee glide over me and rest at my side. I cupped her hips as she still continued to kiss me.
