Oliver’s POV

Felicity and I took our time getting to the foundry mostly because we wanted to enjoy each other’s company and not the misery of whatever was happening. We made it to verdant and I punched the code to the basement ever so slowly and we walked in and down the stairs we went to the place that had the tension just by standing on the first step. It was always tense down here, because where all the “arrows are shot”. We made our way to see Diggle pacing around the room. We could tell he was not only nervous but infuriated. He was angry with something, at someone.

“What took you guys so long?” he asks he didn’t even give us the chance to ask as he started explaining the reason we were here. “Remember Waller’s assignment, the reason she wants us to do it is because Slade is back In Starling City he has escaped Lian Yu somehow and has over 50 hostages and he will kill them if the arrow doesn’t show up. And Felicity needs to be with you or he will kill the hostages.” He says as a deathly silence falls over the room. It was the longest silence I’ve ever encountered until it was broken.

“Well then what are waiting for?” Felicity asks in a shaky voice. I could tell she wanted to be strong and she was, she’s been through so much and here she was again endangering her life for others.

“Felicity…I can’t take you with me.” I say knowing her response. If there was one thing I knew it was that I couldn’t change her mind.

“Oliver you heard him if you show up alone he will kill the hostages, don’t you think that it’s enough. There was enough death. Personally I’m sick and tired of this smell of death that is hanging around Starling city. It’s my life you know you are not going to win this argument he has 50 hostages, Oliver. There is no way I am staying here.” She says in her “Don’t Argue with Me” voice. I look at her with a small smile she always put others first it was one of the reasons my heart did flips when I was in her presence.

“I don’t want you to get hurt.” I say as her expression softened. I could tell she wasn’t taking no for an answer.

“I know Oliver but are you going to put my life over 50 others?” she asks as a rhetorical question. I was going to put her first it was selfish I knew better but I couldn’t lose her. “Oliver if anything goes wrong I want you to know that I love you.” She says as tears threaten to fall.

“I love you too. But I’m not going to lose you. I’m going to fight until my last breath to keep you safe.” I say hugging her. Diggle smiles as he informs us that Roy Laurel and Thea were going to join us in the mission to take Slade down again. Thea insisted to come because she wanted to help. Besides we fought better with her there, and she knew it. We wait for them to come. We are there for about 2 minutes until Roy comes down, followed by Laurel and Thea. Roy and Laurel go to change and Thea brought along an oversized gray hoodie, along with a mask that I gave her for Halloween one year it fit her perfectly. She got into the hoodie and mask as Laurel and Roy came out I was ready and Digg was too. I look over at Felicity.

“You ready?” I ask. She gives me a confident Nod as we all start making our way to where Slade and the hostages were. We were going to save the hostages and everyone will be okay, at least I hoped so.
