Angie POV
After we left the town hall we had all gone back to the hotel bar to celebrate. Drew was standing at the bar talking to Colby and Jeff and the girls were on the floor dancing which left Stephen and me.
"Angie you know what we were talking about earlier" he asks
"About you and that lovely lady of yours, yeah I remember" I smile
"Well I wasn't totally honest with you" he says "I've actually being doing more than thinking about it" he says
"Oh my gosh you've asked her?" I gasp
"Not yet" he chuckles "but I have bought a ring, I've been carrying it around for a couple of weeks now, I know we haven't been together all that long but I really think she's the one"
"Then you should ask her" I say "don't waste time of this is what you want"
"You don't think it's too soon?" He asks
"You're talking to a woman who just married a man that she having a baby with after only knowing him for 7 months and for two of those we had nothing to do with each other" I laugh "no it's not too soon, not when it feels right"
"Well I'm not going to do it now, today is your day" he says "I'm not taking the attention away from you"
"Stephen our day is pretty much done and I've had as much attention as I can take so please feel free to take it" I laugh "you'd be doing me a favour, call it your wedding gift to me"
Stephen doesn't say anything he just nods before getting up and leaving the room, I'm about to go after him when Drew sits down beside me and places his arm around my shoulder.
"How are you doing?" He asks "if you're tired we can go up to the room"
"I'm good" I say "wouldn't want to miss anything" I say resting my head on his shoulder
"I don't think anything interesting is going to happen now" he says kissing the top of my head "the night is almost over"
Smiling I lean further into my husbands side and close my eyes, today had been nothing less than perfect and I could never repay Esmee for what she did for me today it meant everything to have everyone here, especially Jeff he was my other best friend after Esmee.
"Excuse me everyone can I have your attention for a moment" a familiar voices says over the sound system and I look up and see Stephen standing on the small stage at the side of the bar microphone in hand.
He steps down from the stage and walks over to Esmee taking her hand in his free hand.
"Esmee I know we haven't been together long but you have made me the happiest I have ever been" he says "you've made my world a better and brighter place and I can't imagine being without you"
As he slowly goes down on to one knee and takes out a ring box from his pocket everyone gasps and Esmee covers her mouth with her free hand.
"Esmee I want to spend the rest of my life making you as happy as you've made me, and if you give me that chance I promise I won't let you down" he says opening the ring box and holding it out to her "Esmee will you marry me?"
For a moment Esmee is silent but then the biggest smile spreads across her face.
"Yes" she says "yes I will" Stephen places the ring on her finger before standing and taking her in his arms and everyone including me and Drew claps.
"You knew about this didn't you" Drew chuckles
"I may have given him a nudge" I smirk "I had to repay Esmee some how"
"Um excuse me I made some of those calls too" Drew says pretending to sulk "yeah after Esmee had told you to, would you have done it otherwise?" I ask
"Well no becuase I didn't know you wanted them there" he says "if I had known then yes I would"
"Alright I'll give you a little credit" I laugh "and I'll find a way to repay you too"
"No need" he says smiling at me lovingly "you've already given me everything I could ever want"
"Drew Galloway you are the sweetest man I have ever known" I smile "please don't ever change"
Drew smiles and kisses me gently on the lips, he then looks up and nods his head, when I look Stephen and Esmee are walking towards us.
"Hey congratulations guys" I smile standing and hugging Stephen and then Esmee.
"Thank you" Esmee beams "and I'm sorry for taking the attention away from you it is your day after all"
"Esmee it's fine" I smile "he had my blessing"
"What?" She asks
"He spoke to me before he did it and I gave him my blessing" I say "think of it as my way of thanking you for what you did today"
"Thank you" she says tearing up slightly
"Well if it's ok with you I'm going to steal her away" Stephen smiles
"By all means" I say "we'll see you guys tomorrow"
We all hug one final time before they leave the bar, Drew standing behind me wraps his arms around me and places his hand gently on my stomach "socks on the door handle again tonight then" he says and I lean my head back against him and laugh.
"He's not the only one getting lucky tonight" I say smiling up at Drew, before I can even blink he has taken me by the hand and is charging towards the lift.
"Drew we didn't say goodbye to everyone" I laugh
"They'll understand" he says as we step into the lift and the doors close "as of right now all I'm interested in is making love to my wife"
