One week later
Angie POV
Looking at my reflection, at the umpteenth dress I had tried on I felt better about my body, with Jeff and Stephen's help I had lost a little weight but the dress just isn't right, it's not the one.
"Try this one" Lexi says passing a dress through the curtain, it's red, full length and an off the shoulder corset style.
"Red?" I say "it's not really my colour but I'll try it"
After removing the other dress I step into the red one and pull it up my body, once it's in place I realise there is no way I can fasten the back myself.
"Lex I need help" I call out
She enters the cubicle and fastens up the back of the dress, when she's done I look up and take in my reflection for the first time.
"Wow" I say slightly stunned "it looks good"
"Good!" Lexi smiles "you look amazing"
"Looks like I found my dress" I smile "although I'm going to have to get ready with you"
"No problem" she says "and I know your and expert but I can help with your hair and makeup too"
"Deal" I smile "let's get this off so I can pay for it"
Walking back to the hotel my new dress in a bag over my arm, I couldn't help but wonder what Drew would think when he saw me, if he would like the dress.
"He'll love" Lexi says as though she has just read my mind
"You think so?" I ask
"Oh yeah, he's not going to be able to stay away from you" she says
"But he has to" I say
"Remind me why you two are keeping it a secret?" She asks "and don't say Colby because it's been too long"
"You know I don't know" I shrug
Later that night
Drew POV
Standing by the bar with Stephen I had been waiting for Angel to arrive, I wanted to see her dress, she had insisted I couldn't see it until tonight.
I know I'm supposed to stay away from her tonight but I don't want to, I want the world to know she's my girl. Maybe I'll need to make my point tonight.
And then I see her, she's in a full length red dress and she looks incredible, I'm lost for words and she has taken my breath away. I feel like the luckiest man in the world becuase the most beautiful woman in the room is mine.
I watch as she crosses the room towards Jeff, Lexi by her side and greets him with a hug. In no time he has her out on the dance floor and her smile practically lights up the room.
"You might want to pick your jaw up off the floor" Stephen laughs "before some one notices"
"Let them notice" I say "she's beautiful"
When I look back at her, she is now dancing with Colby, she looks over at me and smiles, I'll be damned if I'm going to spend the evening watching her dance with everyone but me.
As a slow song starts, and old one, Lady In Red, I take that as my queue and I head towards her, when I reach them I tap Colby on the shoulder.
"Mind if I cut in?" I ask and he shakes his head and steps aside
"What are you doing?" She whispers as I taker her in my arms and start to move
"Dancing with you" I whisper pulling her closer
"People are watching" she says blushing slightly
"Let them" I say resting my head against hers
As we move, the second verse of the song begins and I sing along quietly so that only she can hear.
I've never seen you looking so gorgeous as you did tonight,
I've never seen you shine so bright, you were amazing,
I've never seen so many people want to be there by your side,
And when you turned to me and smiled, it took my breath away,
And I have never had such a feeling,
Such a feeling of complete and utter love, as I do tonight
The lady in red is dancing with me, cheek to cheek,
There's nobody here, it's just you and me,
It's where I want to be,
But I hardly know this beauty by my side,
I'll never forget the way you look tonight
Angie POV
As I listen to Drew sing and we move to the music I can't help but smile, this is the sort of moment with him I had been longing for. When I answered Lexi's question I genuinely had no idea why this was still a secret, but he had never said anything so I figured he wanted to keep it this way.
I'm shook from my thoughts when I realise he has stopped moving, he let's go of me with one arm and places his finger under my chin lifting it so that I am looking at him.
Without saying a word he leans down and kisses me, I'm unsure at first but then I return the kiss, it only lasts a moment but my heart is racing. Opening my eyes I look at him and he is smiling.
"Well I think everyone knows now" he smiles
"Yeah I think they do" I smile back as he leans down and kisses me again.
