Angie POV
By the time I had to meet Stephen I had pretty much calmed down, I was still feeling a little insecure but Jeff had made me feel alot better.
Sometimes you just have to be grateful for good friends and I was lucky that I had quite a few, Stephen being one of them and this would be our first proper chat since I had come back.
As I reach the lobby I see him waiting for me, as I approach he smiles and greets me with a big hug.
"You ready to eat" he says wrapping an arm around my shoulder
"Yeah sure" I smile "where are we going?"
"Well I know fancy makes you uncomfortable so I thought we could try the diner down the street" he says "sound good?"
"Sounds great" I say "and how do you know that?"
"Colby" he says "couldn't stop gushing about your date, which we will be discussing"
"Oh I had a feeling you'd want to talk about that" I laugh
"Ladies first" he says opening the door, as we step onto the street he offers me his arm and I slide my arm through his.
As we walk we make small talk, the diner isn't far and it doesn't take us long to get there, we are shown to a booth and handed menus, by the time the waiter comes back I've chosen but Stephen is still looking.
"Hmm I think I'll have chicken and chips" he says handing back the menu
"Ceasar salad for me thanks" I say
"Since when do you eat salad" he asks looking confused
"Since now" I say fiddling with my napkin
"What's going on lass?" He asks
"Nothing I just want to lose a little weight that's all" I sigh
"Has this got anything to do with Carmella being all over Drew?" He asks
"No" I say but I can tell he's not buying it.
Stephen POV
Looking across the table at my friend I could hardly believe it, she had nothing to be insecure about and yet here she was wanting to change the way she looked just becuase of one woman.
"Angie your fine the way you are" I say taking her hand in mine
"Thank you" she says giving me a half smile "but I can't complete with the women you work with"
"You don't need to" I say "alot of what you see isn't natural and there is alot of make up involved, you're lucky you don't need all that"
"Can we change the subject please" she says and I take the hint
"So tell me about your date" I say changing the subject like she asked
"Oh it was lovely, he's a lovely guy" she says "but I'm not ready to move on"
"Now you understand why I asked if you were sure" I say "I understand you and Drew had a chat"
"Yeah" she smiles "he um he told me he's in love with me"
"Well feck me" I laugh "the stubborn eejit actually did it"
"He certainly did" she laughs "we are working things out"
"Glad to hear it" I say "so you going to the hall of fame after party?" I ask
The ceremony itself is for superstars, their families and fans but everyone is invited to the after party and I wanted to make sure she would be there.
"Oh I don't know" she shrugs "I don't have a dress"
"Ok I'll re phrase" I say "You're going even if I have to drag you there myself, you deserve to have some fun"
"I guess I'm going then" she says
Our food arrives and I tuck in, pretty soon I notice that Angie is eating small amounts and picking at her food.
"That is the wrong way to lose weight" I say "if you're serious you need a diet plan and you need to eat"
"I've never dieted before" she says looking at me "I've never felt i needed to before"
"You don't need to" I sigh "but if you want to I can help"
"Are you going to tell Drew?" She asks looking worried and so she should he'd go mad if he knew
"Not if you don't want me to" I say
