Next Night
Angie POV
After a day of Drew being cryptic and me being absolutely sure he was up to something I found myself sitting in my hotel room, Esmee doing my hair and makeup and no sign of Drew.
When I had gotten back to the room I had found a box with a beautiful red maternity dress inside and a note from Drew saying he would see me tonight.
"Come on I know you know something" I say smiling at Esmee as she does my hair
"If I tell you it won't be a suprise" she grins "and Drew will kill me"
"Patience lass it will be worth it" Stephen says from his perch on the bed
Just as Esmee finishes there is a knock at the door, both her and Stephen motion for me to answer it. When I open the door I find Drew standing there in a smart black suit, shirt and tie and holding a bunch of flowers.
"For you" he smiles holding the bouquet out to me
"Oh Drew, they're beautiful thank you" I smile taking them "but what is all this about?" I ask
"You'll see" he grins and offers me his arm
"I'll put these in water for you" Esmee says taking the flowers "now go have a good time"
Linking my arm through Drews we walk to the lift, Drew presses the button and then turns to me.
"You look beautiful Angel" he says
"Sweet talker" I smile "I look like a beached whale, but you look great" I chuckle
"Not to me you don't" he says pressing a gentle kiss to my lips
We leave the hotel and head over to the car, Drew opens the the door for me and takes my hand as I get in the passenger seat, once I'm in he closes the door and gets in the drivers seat.
After a short drive we pull up outside a very familiar restaurant, as my jaw drops Drew smiles before getting out of the car and walking around to my door.
"Remember this place Angel?" He asks offering me his hand
"Yes, you brought me here on our first date" I say stepping out of the car
"Aye, I wanted you to have one night before wee man arrives where I can make you feel special and show you how much I love you" he says "so I thought we could relive some of our firsts"
"Drew I.......... you're amazing do you know that?" I say and he chuckles "I love you"
"I love you too Angel" he says "you ready to go in?"
Nodding I take Drews arm as we enter the restaurant, it soon becomes apparent how much effort he had out in to tonight, he had got us the exact same table and he had pre ordered the exact same food and drinks we had that night
"You've gone to a lot of trouble braveheart" I smile
"I wanted tonight to be perfect" he says "I know with our schedule I don't always have time or opportunity to take you out or give you the attention you deserve, but I want you to always be certain of my love for you"
"Drew I've never doubted how much you love me" I say "you show me everyday"
"Aye but soon you'll be at home with wee man and I won't be able to show you" he says "and we will barely see each other"
It's at that moment I see a look in his eye that I have only seen a handful of times, it's a look that tells me he is worrying about something.
"Drew what's worrying you?" I ask placing my hand on top of his
"I'm worried you will get fed up of me never being home and you will leave" he says "I'm scared to death of losing you and wee man"
"Listen to me" I say cupping his cheek "that is not going to happen, I understand that being away is a part of your job, and you not being home much means the time we do have together will be more special, and I would never ever take your son away from you"
"Are you ready to relive another first?" He asks smiling and offering me his hand "dance with me?"
"Are you serious?" I ask and he nods, I take his hand and he leads me to the dance floor, as we start to move Lady In Red starts to play - the first only song we have danced to and now the dress makes sense
"Do you remember our first dance?" He asks
"How could I forget" I laugh "you announced our relationship in the most unsubtle way"
"I just wanted everyone to know the most beautiful woman in the room was mine" he smiles "it was also the first and I believe only time until tonight that I've seen you in a dress"
Smiling he leans down and kisses me the same way he did that night and it feels just as good as it did then.
If I wasn't already in love with this man I certainly would be now, all this effort just to make me feel secure about how he feels about me, he is certainly one of a kind.
"Do you remember our first kiss?" He asks
"Of course I do" I say "but that is not for public consumption" I laugh
"Mmm it was the best beard trim I'd ever had in my life" he smirks
As the song ends we head back to our table and finish our meals before heading back to the hotel.
Drew walks me to our room and when we get to the door he takes my hands in his.
"I had a really good time tonight" he says
"Yeah me too" I smile "thank you for everything you did tonight"
"So are you going to invite me in?" He asks and I laugh
"Well I would love to but my husband will be back soon and he won't like finding another man in our room" I smirk
"I love you Mrs Galloway" he smiles
"I love you too" I smile back before yawning
"Come on let's get you to bed" Drew says opening the hotel room door "maybe we can re live another first" he says wiggling his eyebrows
