Grace Alder pov.

Later in the afternoon, we decided to visit Charles first at the Hospital. I wanted to meet him and see if he is alright.

We reached the hospital, Aldrik's bodyguard whose name is Alex open the door for me. Aldrik took my hand and almost hauled me with him inside the hospital. Alex followed us.

We reached the room where Charles was admitted. Entering inside I saw a pale-looking Charles resting with bandages covering almost every part of his body.

" Charles, how are you? " I asked him politely.

" Grace, you're here? " He smiled looking at me. I remove my hand from Aldrik's grasp and moved closer to Charles.

" You okay? " He nodded and said "all thanks to you. " He continued.

" Thank you so much Grace for helping me. If it's not because of you I would have never been able to you came out alive from there. Thank you so much. "

" You don't have to thank me Charles I did it because your my friend and helping friends is everyone's job.... I am just glad that you are ok.... " I said.

We chatted for few more minutes he asked me about what happened after I went out to call all the police and I told him how the guy attacked me and I ran away from him. He apologized to me, saying that I got hurt because of him. And I said there is no one's fault in this.

We said our goodbyes to each other and I moved to Aldrik who was listening to our conversation very curiously and watching me with very intense stares.

" We should go. " I said to him. He took his hands out from his pocket And reaches for my hands.

What is wrong with him and holding hands today.

We came back to his car and Alex starts driving for my apartment. Throughout the whole ride, no-one utters a word.

I saw as we reach the familiar-looking surroundings and I instantly know we have reached my apartment.

Aldrik removed his seat belt when I stopped him. " You don't have to come. I'll be fast, I just need few things and that's all, you don't have to come to my apartment. "
I said to him.

I like it as he respected my privacy and gives me a nod.

I went out and stepped inside my apartment building. Reaching my floor I punched the code. My apartment was quiet and empty. I moved toward my room to take things.

Aldrik Kingsley pov.

I waited inside the car for Grace to came back. She told me to wait here and I respected privacy and stayed in the car.

" I think there is something wrong. Ms. Aldrer is taking too much time than expected. " Alex said and moved to action. I told him to wait and come if I don't come down in 5 minutes.

I ran inside the building and to her apartment. Reaching the apartment I the door was half-opened. I stepped inside slowly and carefully.

"Grace.. " I called her but she didn't reply instead I hear a footstep coming my way.

"Aldrik. " my heart stopped when I saw a man holding her with a knife on her neck. She's already had a cut on her neck and the knife is cutting her skin more.
