Tamaki's pov

I sat up in bed, leaning against the pillows that had been stacked up at my bed. Todoroki was still in the room. I'd encouraged him to talk about his feelings and he'd gotten into a long winded rant about his dad. I listened to his rant, having something else to focus on. While we talked, my door swung open.
"Hey Tamaki, da-" Hitoshi stopped talking. He didn't move into the room, just stayed in place.
"You know there's someone in your room right?" he asks. I blink slowly towards the door.
"No. I had no idea. He was just so sneaky when coming into my room" I reply sarcastically.
"Just making sure"
"How would he have even gotten in the house if no one knew he was here"
"The window"
"You really think that he's going to exert extra effort to climb in through a window?" my lips fall into a line and my eyebrows crinkle the surrounding skin slightly.
"Yeah whatever. Dad wanted me to tell you that dinner was ready" I can hear the fabric of his clothes shuffle when he moves.
"You really think I'm making it down those stairs. i couldn't even reach my door earlier" I object.
"I never said you had to come down for it"
"You kind of implied it but whatever" Hitoshi didn't say anything but I heard the door creak as it was pulled closed.
"What was that?" Todoroki asks.
"We do that all the time. Its a sibling thing. You know, pissing each other off on a daily basis"
"No. Not really" I blink.
"You got any siblings?"
"Yes but I've not really had much interaction with them over the years" The clink of the chair sounded, idicating that it was spinning. A thump hits the floor and the chair clinks again.
"Oh. I didn't know. It really sounds like your home life sucks" I grip the corners of the blanket and lean into it further.
"Yeah. My dad's been on my back since the tunnels thing. Keeps asking where I've been when I come back later than usual" he sighs heavily, something hitting the back of the chair as it leans back with a wheeze.
"Hitoshi and I have been grounded but I would have been stuck here regardless. I've barely left my room" I explain, tapping one nail on the back of my other hand.
"It was that bad?" the surprise in his voice was evident which was a contrast with his usual level voice.
"I've been feeling shitty all week. Dad thought I might have been poisoned at one point but nope. A doctor came in and he wasn't really sure what was going on. At one point I think they thought I'd gone into shock down in the tunnels but they had no way to confirm it since we were down there for a while" I explain. The door creaks and someone walks in.
"I guessed you were still here when I didn't see you leave. I brought food for the both of you" dad explained. A plate was placed into my lap.
"Thanks dad" I reach out for my bedside cabinet, searching for the box. My fingers brush over it. I pick it up and pull out my eye supports, putting them on and pushing the switch into the on position. I blink and the darkness that filled my vision was replaced with colour and all the objects of my room. Now that I could see I wouldn't make a fool of myself in front of Todoroki. I pick up the fork, using it to twirl the pasta around it and eat the mouthful. Now I just hope I can keep what I eat down without throwing up. I'd never make it to the bathroom in my condition. Todoroki ate his own food slowly. He was raised with manors for sure.
"Your dad makes good food" Todoroki comments, looking down at the bowl in his lap.
"Yeah. Dad makes good food. Oh and I'm talking about Hizashi. Dad doesn't know how to cook for shit" I clarify. He nods, closing his lips around another mouthful of pasta. I take another mouthful, swallowing the food easily.
"Its getting late. You might have to ask for a ride home if you can't for the night. Dad is quite particular over letting people walk home alone. He's been like that even when we were kids. Even though it made more sense then" I explain. He nods. The room fills with a comfortable silence as we both ate our food with no words to say. It was nice and very comforting. Eventually the food was finished and he got up.
"I guess I'll see you when you return to school"
"Yeah. I guess"
"I'll be expecting a rematch against that fancy quirk of yours" my face heats up. He called my quirk fancy. It wasn't fancy. Was it?" He took my plate, stacking it ontop of his own and walks to the door.
"Bye" he mumbles, hand on the door handle.
"Yeah. Bye" I agree as he leaves my room, closing the door behind him. I lean back into my pillows, hands over my face in an atempt to cool it down. What just happened?
